[C4D] Daily Builds / Re: UDIMs cause crashe
« on: 2023-10-23, 14:05:35 »
Corona is still crashing, one thing that prevents it is setting the Max UDIM UV size in Corona bitmap shader to 10 and 2 instead of default 0,0

[C4D] Daily Builds / UDIMs cause crashe
« on: 2023-08-29, 12:37:57 »
Hello, I use a UDIM texture that spans over 2x10 tiles, it crashes my C4D file once I click on the material. It did not crash the scene as it was only 1x7 tile. Is there some limitation in corona regarding the amount of tiles? I am happy to share the file with you, please provide me with an upload link.
Daniel

[C4D] I need help! / C4D Hair Object strangely kills RAM
« on: 2023-07-16, 16:40:33 »
Hello I have a larger winter scene, but it renders fine using 42,5 GB of physical RAM and 58,5 GB of virtual RAM
I want to add fur on the chairs outside that renders OK by itself using 12,5GB of physical 21,7 GB of virtual RAM, however after adding it to the scene it uses 78,4 GB and 123,8 GB virtual RAM and crashes the C4D
Do have any tips why hair objects have such big toll on RAM

i had similar impressions, but somehow it solved it for me to set the same texture search paths as i had in r25. so it seems the search for some missing items took lot of ram and stalled my system quite.
also i had seen some hair material settings didn't transport right from r25 to r2023.

as it vanished then suddenly after solving the above, all that is only my guess, but maybe worth a try.
at least for me after some problems v10 runs fine now on 2023.2.1 also on huge scenes (3-4gb)
thank you Stefan, this worked for me, I had one path missing compared to r26, now it runs fine

I thought about it and it probably will, however, I still consider it to be a bug you may want to look at, I still work in v.9 where it works fine, I just wanted to check out v.10 and discovered this. I guess C4D cloner may have the same issue, but haven't tried it.

Hi, I am attaching some screenshots:

r26 RAM usage:
37 GB physical
43.5 GB virtual

2023 RAM usage:
52.8 GB
90.8 GB

I think it is the Laubwerk surfacespread objects, if I turn them off, the scene in 2023 renders fine

Hi I noticed a big exterior scene loads and renders fine in v.9 but gets stuck due to low RAM in v10

[C4D] I need help! / Re: MSVCP140.dll was not found error
« on: 2023-02-13, 09:45:49 »
Hi,
I solved it by reinstalling c++ redistributables.
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-remove-and-reinstall-Microsoft-Visual-C-Runtime-Libraries.html
You need to reinstall both 64 nad 32 bit versions.
Hope this helps to someone

[C4D] I need help! / MSVCP140.dll was not found error
« on: 2023-01-28, 12:22:33 »
Hello,
when installing corona 9 on windows 11 I get error saying MSVCP140.dll was not found and VCRUNTIME140.dll as well.
People solve this by reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++, but this did not help. Any other tip how to solve this error?

ok, in any case you have the asset browser with your personal textures and various objects?
Because for me the problem is that

I have few objects, no textures, however. Will try to install corona again and uninstall the custom asset database. I will let you know whether it had any influence.

Hi,

do you use materials with textures connected with Cinema4d's Assets Browser?

No, this happens when simply starting blank C4D R26, it is not specific to a scene

Yeah sure, could be os specific. No problem for me I just do rendering in r25 and modelling in r26. But you should know about it. Maybe more people will come up and report it, let´s see.

Hi, no scene involved here, just starting r26 with corona installed. I can send you dump file I sent to Maxon if you want.

This is how it was generated:
macOS:
Please follow these steps:
- Open the folder where Cinema 4D R21 and onward has been installed.
- Rightclick the file „Cinema 4D“ and choose „Show Package Contents“
- Now open the folder „Contents“ and then „MacOS“
- Please start the program Terminal from the utilities of macOS.
- Next drag&drop the file „Cinema 4D“ from the finder into the Terminal and add an space behind it.
- Please copy the following text behind the command inside the Terminal:

g_console=true g_licenseDiagnostic=true g_proxyDebugging=true g_warning=true

- Enter this command to start the program.
- Now, while starting the program a text is displayed. Please copy the entire text and send it to us.
