hi everybody, lately i have a new problem. i use 3ds max 2021  and Corona render 5. normally, my render takes 90 min for 150 pass but example i have a 3ds max folder  which is just 15 mb and 1 pass takes maybe 5 min. it is too slow and i dont know what to do. there is no big size texture. i tried prune scene script to fix problem bu it didn't work. please can you help me to find the problem? i am really curious about it, want to fix it.

Hi,

the slow rendering can be due to other reasons such as complex geometries or materials or incorrect settings in render engines. Can you share your scene for me to have to have a look?

Regards,
Avi

Hi,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for sharing your file over inbox. I was able to conduct my inspection on your file.

Here is my inspection report:

1. Your scene contains some unwanted dummies object which are mostly coming along with your CAD data. It is always a good practise to keep your geometries and scene file tidy & only keep what you need.
2. Scene scale is wrong.
3. X-forms are wrong on objects.
4. Autodesk Generic materials are being used which produces errors while rendering. You can use corona converter to convert other types of material into corona supported materials in just 1 click.
5. You can always check corona log to check for the errors your scene has. :)

Fixing these issues, I was able to speed up & improve the performance of the rendering of your scene.

Additionally, I would recommend using Corona 6 hotfix 1 as it is better, faster and effective than corona 5. It will surely speed up your renderings even more.

I will also share a recorded inspection video though your inbox to protect the privacy of your project.

I hope this helps.

Ps: Software used in this inspection are 3dsmax 2021 & corona 5.

Regards,
Avi
