Title: Albedo render element
Post by: Ondra on 2014-01-24, 21:53:29
I've added simple render element that displays the total albedo of each material. It turns red when the albedo is too high. You can use it to quickly assess your scene materials - only small portions of the scene, excluding glass, water, and mirrors, should be in red.

Example of correct scene:

Example of bad scene that will render slower and look bad:

Just to make it clear, Albedo shows the areas where light is reflected the most? I honestly never heard this term before, can someone enlight how to properly use this pass? It looks very promicing but google search didnt give any kind of usefull (in my opinion) information.

Looks like a useful tool.

Is this a daily build feature only? Don't seem to see it in v5.

Thanks

I understand it will render as a separate element, whether it is possible to include this feature in the buffer nendera crown par with alpha so immediately evaluate common mistakes albedo of each element, it would be very comfortable and cool.
