Renders are very fine. Layout is unpractical. Unless this is intentional or requested by owner I'll say its WIP :)

As maru correctly suggest, add absorption color and some distance value. Start with 1-2cm distance and 205,225,220 RGB as color value. Adjust accordingly.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Using Corona Materials
« on: 2014-10-03, 11:50:14 »
Hello Kurai,

You see the Corona Renderer does not come with preset materials apart from default one. On the other hand http://coronamaterials.com is library of materials people produced and published, that is not perfectly organized yet. Sometimes members posting their materials saved in different 3DMAX versions. Few times it happens maps were missing from material. No standard or strict rules being developed yet. Lets hope it will change soon.

Answering your question I create my own routine for importing materials from this site. Usually I do open downloaded file, making sure all paths are correct, no missing maps etc. Cleaning scene from objects i do not need like camera or plane set, consolidating material editor so only slots with materials I do really need left in there (I have to keep it very organized due the farm and network paths).

After that I either save scene with material for the future in my library, so I can easy merge it into my master model when I need it, or creating a new *.mat file and saving material presets in here. And this is basically it.

Do not hesitate to ask any questions, and sorry if we started from the wrong foot.
Good Luck!

I have those kind of stripes all the time when rendering in network, but they do disappear after some more passes. Try to render more than 6 like it is in your case.

I would say it is more or less good times for such image res and complexity of the scene on single machine as 950.

Help yourself (see attached).
All credits goes to this person http://coronamaterials.com/material/brush-metal/ . I done nothing more than slight readjust of the main material and added extra MatID for side cut, just for sake of the render :)

[Archive] Corona Scatter 2.0 / Re: Feature requests
« on: 2014-09-02, 15:01:49 »
ok, then it is probably working correctly - the object types are generated randomly - so the real percentages are also random. If you would change seed, you would get on average your input value, but values with different seeds can slightly differ.  It is done this way because it is simpler, and most times, the exact percentage cannot be achieved (e.g. if you would have 30.5% of one objects)

OK then I rest my case :) but wait... During my last test, I did mention problems with selecting scattered object individually. Any way to address this issue? Or is it a way to select it?

ehm, that is already implemented...

It does, but it is not very precise. I do not know is it because of the way random algorithms are designed or something else.  Try following numbers for instance:
scatter count: 10
box frequency: 0.3
sphere frequency: 0.2
cylinder frequency: 0.5

Above should you give results as follows: 10 objects scattered across surface of your choice, 3x boxes, 2x spheres and 5x cylinders. You will be surprised that numbers does not matched up. Checked on both, Halton and Congruent.

What would happen if you choose count: 1000 instead of 10?

Since I did not find a quick way to convert Corona Scatter object into anything where I can count object automatically, I lowered total to 100 and count it manually:

scatter count: 100
box frequency: 0.3
sphere frequency: 0.2
cylinder frequency: 0.5

Results are:
30xBoxes
52xCylynders
18xSpheres

My guess is 1k will not going to be correct either.
