i would say it is certain it wont be usable in production for at least a year

The poll you made also showed results that Cinema4D is the most used software after 3ds, so this should be a good move :)

This is great news! Vray for C4D is at the moment the fastest render engine in C4D, but its development process is super slow.
And it does not support deform motion blur & object motion blur (well.. object motion blur works - some how, but it has lots of bugs or what they say: "features".

I really want to see Corona for C4D with object, camera & deform motion blur features, at least it should be possible
to create full motion blur support because Mental ray for C4D already has it (but it is slow rendering engine), and Vray will add it to the next version (but, i guess we will see it after couple of years :).

Meaning the C4D version is on hold?

One year was already a very long time. If now it's forever... =[

Fortunately we still have a bunch of good renderers (even Arnold has its C4D bridge on the way), but Corona seemed like such a nice renderer that this is a pity.
