Hello,
would it be a good idea to add, in the materials that use a triplanar map, a float controller to control the scale of all the maps of the material with a single value? In that way it would be faster to tweak the materials for different needs and units setup.
Just an idea...

[Max] I need help! / Render elements file save
« on: 2017-11-10, 12:08:20 »
Hello,
can anybody tell me if there is a way to save the render elements I need only in the main .exr file? With Vray I was able to do it, but Corona saves both the main multilayer .exr file and also every render element on a separate file, which I don't need.
I know I could simply delete the files I don't need, but my problem is that I render on Rebusfarm and I download the images on a very slow network, so it could save me time...
THanks in advance for any help!

Hello Jens,
thank you for your answer! I found out how to save the .cexr files using Corona autoback function! Now I can resume the files and fine tune the lights!
Sadl I hadn't considered one aspect... When I save the exrs edited in Lightmix, only the beauty pass is updated, while all the other passes I usually save remain unaltered. So if in Photoshop I want to edit reflections or other things, those levels will tend to bring back lights that I may have turned off or modified in color...
This way the lightmix is useful only to alter images that are already perfect in all other aspects and won't need pimping in Photoshop (which instead I use a lot to improve things that I don't have time to make come out perfect right away with the bare render).
Anyway I will have to do more testing to insert this useful feature in my personal workflow!
Thanks again,

Patrick

Is there a way to save .cexr files using backburner and then open them in the Corona VBF and work with the Lightmix to obtain different version?
Am I missing something or you can use Lightmix only on fresh rendered images or on .cexr files saved manually from the VBF?
I would need to batch calculate several images and then fine tune them at a later time...
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I have a similar problem. If I put the PC to sleep, after it wakes up it only uses 30% of all the cores of the CPU... (Intel i7 6800 @3.4GHz)
If I reboot it works fine again. I've tried to Google for this problem but I've found nothing.
(If I render with scanline it uses even less CPU, around 8%!)
