I recently discovered ReRoom.ai and it's mind-blowing. Sure it's not perfect yet, but with how fast AI is evolving in leaps and bounds in only the past 6 months, I am sure it will reach critical mass within a year. I immediately thought "what do 3D renderer developers think about this?"  The implications are astounding and look like it will change the face of the 3D/2D/Film industry by orders of magnitude. I guess my question is: Does Corona have plans to incorporate AI into the pipeline? Are you guys worried about this new tech taking over in the 3D rendering space? I'd be keen to know what others here think of it and where they think Corona and other 3D renderers can go with this.

I thought 3dsmax supported USD as well?  I believe Omniverse has a realtime rendering engine as part of it's suite of tools. From what I can gather, it's primary focus is on 3d realtime rendering and simulations. Could be very useful for Archviz, especially for VR/walkthrough application. Kinda seems like what Unreal Engine can produce? Def worth looking at if you want to expand your skillset. VR is going to blow up in the coming years.

To me this looks like some hybrid of micro displacement and Fstorm's geopattern. It might be revolutionary in real-time world, where neither of those techniques were available, but nothing that would super impress off-line rendering folks. Once Corona gets its geopattern equivalent, we will have even better tool :]

This is great news! I can't wait. Will this be part of Corona 8?

Was wondering if anyone has heard anything new about Corona 8 release date?

Corona is just better. That's a broad statement, but I feel it's true. BTW, is Corona ever going to have a GPU-based version? The speed increase would be exponential.

I suggest doing atleast some research next time before making such a clueless rant.

I'm new to all of this. Could you please elaborate?

I m very interested how Chaos will handle marketing on their site of two products which do the same thing (Vray and Corona). It is like Autodesk situation with Maya and 3ds Max. Hopefully they can flesh out differences of both programs better than autodesk.

Easy, Corona makes stuff look better than Vray....problem solved hehe :)

This is so true! That's pretty much why Chaos had to buy Corona. :) Now they have BOTH of the Archviz industry standard renderers.

[Max] I need help! / Corona material nodes documentation?
« on: 2021-12-26, 01:54:06 »
Is there a resource that explains all the different parameters/settings of each of the Corona material nodes? I'm very new to the Corona engine and to 3ds max in general. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.  TIA

Merry xmas!
