For all of you who are not familiar with the recent posts, this sample scene will be used at coronamaterials.com
Here are the three models that received the best feedback so far.
Please take your time and consider everything you want a sample scene to be, before you make your choice.
thank you for your participation.

I like the 1 and 2 doption, second option is the most suitable for my taste.

Needs tweeks but its the most "clear"

For me also, model number 2 feels more suitable for material preview.
Please continue voting the poll, up in header of this post.
Thank you.

option 1 is a better model but will not show tile textures good like option 2.
so I choose option 2

I can change the environment a bit, lighting (to shade one side of a model) and fix UV mapping

My 2 cents.

The first one is of course pretty, but I think it has too low uniform surface to valuate a texture. The second model has got more continuous surface and also some flat surf to evaluate better all shader aspect. I suggest to leave one of the two box on the base fully un-smoothed to have a preview also for this kind of surface, to evaluate radius effect on the edge.

Option 1 is good, but not suitable for tiling materials. Option 3 is very simple, so these two approaches.

Functionally, that's miles better !! I could stand behind that.

Design wise, it's now slightly re-hashed and not uniform. I would try tweaking the form further.

hi volden.
your Participation in this discussion is very appreciated.
your last model is  by far the best model from all options.
please consider making the changes users suggested
with the new changes i think that most users would like volden final model to be CML final choice.

thanks a lot.

option 2. Don't forget about main goal. We need just to work on materials. First one is good as a premium trophy for the author of second one.

I almost finished the final version:

Hello Volden

Again, if you have time, you can see those extruded (external) of the ball in the negative?
It is always possible?

thanks and regards
Raf

This is good for me, but don't forget to leave some not smoothed edge, to test "Rounded corner" material option.

By the way same lighting setup for shared materials is not less important then same model. Other way you can't compare different materials. What about this?

Hi,
Good point,
Volden light setup set is almost perfect.
Natural light, soft and hard shadow and nice highlights.
Keeping material colors as the creator meant them to be.
This is the most important thing  imho.

I like the option of a post 12 on page 1, looks pretty nice, but it is only for simple materials, it will be difficult to see on materials with tiles and other textures. Last summer I also tried to make a scene for the corona materials, try to offer his version might like. Then you can change something if needed
