I think the reverse is more logical, using the houdini engine within 3dsmax or c4d if you're a technical artist.

houdini engine is a pain, and i dont use 3ds max.

I'm using the demo in c4d and really enjoying it, but the hassle of going between apps is making me hesitant to buy. If there were a houdini plugin i'd be super interested as would others I know!
