Thanks!

I thought was correct to ask if you were aware or not about it.

Sure, thanks for your report! I was just being a little bit sarcastic.

No worries...

As this is a beta testing thread I try to communicate any strange behavior and sometimes I don't know if you are aware or not.
Better post our doubts than keep them secretly till the end of time.... :P

Thanks Marcin for the reply about where the code came from for this new feature. I remember the video where one of the vray developers tells the story behind their new bloom and glare and it matches with what you wrote.
I finally had some in production tests and I like the new bloom and glare. I like how it really becomes harder to tell the new glare is cgi. Well done chaos and legion.

Chaos' Legion, I know the legal naming implications Tom, but for me you, guys and gals, are still that Render Legion brave team that took on the road from 0 to hero when the market was largely dominated by Vray.

Here is a test with new glare and bloom. I feel we need a save preset list or something to quickly load params. Also maybe some cool predefined ones for quick looks similar to LUTs that come prepacked?

That looks awesome!

And on the name, yes that may have changed, but we're still the same brave team for sure!

On the presets etc., actually something I already raised internally a while back, so we have that on a tracker to think about. No decision yet on whether it will be save-able presets (that is, ones that can be saved separately from the overall tone mapping as you might want to recall your lens effects separately from tone mapping), or some predefined ones in a list, or both, or something else altogether - but we'll sure think about it and see. (Of course, no promises that any changes, if there are any and whatever they might be, will be in the 6 release - just wanted you to know that it is something we are looking into though).

The new lens effects are just awesome! Much closer to photorealism!

Thanks for that!
