What is about corona blend material....?

+1 ?
I've waited for this feature the most.

Work in Progress/Tests / Re: AMG GT 2014 Dortmund/Germany

Well the main problem is the side door which still shows some weird distortions. (See the image before)
Furthermore they needed about a week to fix the main problems, but they forgot the distortions at the trunk, which I had to fix myself.
Unfortunately I don't have the skills to solve the weird distortions at the door.
But yes perhaps those problems are based on the complexity of the car itself, so blaming humster3d wasn't correct. I simply don't have enough experience to give a precise assessment.

Do you have some other tips, which could help me, to improve the renderings? :-)

Don't expect 100% accuracy on a 100$ model.
I'm working for Mackevision at Stuttgart, and we do a lot for Mercedes. I'm responsible for the CGi images for the brochure and the the configurator online (attachement). I worked about 1 month with the AMG GT and know the car from every angle (CAD files). The model here is just so inaccurate as we are used to from 100$ models. Most people can't model cars like the AMG GT. Or, did you ever asked yourself why you can't see Porsche models that much? Because it's a rounded design. To get those shapes right is a masterpiece only by using blueprints for example. Therefore you will find more people which is doing a Lamborghini for example, because with hardsurface modelling you mostly dont care about curvatures or smooth curves. If you are good at managing polyflows than you already got half the battle.
But this says nothing about the modeller skills (in this case humster3d). Nobody know the ambitions and amount of time he put into this model. So if you want to model a car within 5 days, than this result is solid.

So this is the updated rendering, without photoshop. I guess I have to leave the model as it is and avoid humster3d in the future. :-(
But thank you guys for all your support. ;-)
Can you point out what you specifically don't like in this model? I can't see nothing wrong in it, at least nothing that could stop you from making spectacular renderings.

have to agree here. The model is good enough, to do great renderings for sure.

Maybe it is a little bit much but there is also bump on the glasses as well. I got some super high quality reference images for this :) Thank you for your feedback rawa :)

EDIT: i've attached one of my reference images.

My latest renderings which I wanted to share with you.

I'm so impressed by the amount of accuracy and realistic output Corona can give. Such a great engine, have to say!

Comments, feedback welcome.

Sorry for confusing rawa.
In my case, what really would annoy is the reflection in the refraction pass. So i could not easily retouch the inside elements and then just put the reflection back on top again. Without this feature, you would always have to rerender or just leave it as it is, because you can't render that special thing for example.

Sure you can have a look how to solve this in a more elegant way but, i think both known solutions would help already.

Thanks.

To split the reflection and refraction is very handy to fix something or retouch in postproduction. Imagine a situation, where you have to add a driver into a car without its beeing rendered. This way you can split the passes and grade each pass easily. I'm with you when it comes to keep things as real as possible. This is something why i keep with corona somehow. I feel that my renderings are more realistic than vray. And this i've noticed in my very first render already.

Your solution will help me out even it's not real for sure. Ive also tried and decreasing the IOR is also removing the backside reflection too. So there are two workarounds now, cool.

Thanks for your support rawa.

Hi,
i came across another issue where i need help.

As i'm specialized in automotive section, i am very dependent on proper render elements for editing later on.

I've read that corona makes all shaders by default two sided. But is this also a restriction? Will there be a checkbox at the initial release to force one sided material?

My problem is that i see the backside reflections in my refraction pass which makes it unusable for me.
I've also checked the (raw) component channel but got everywhere the same problem.

Thanks.

Oh wow, that's some support, thanks for the video!

I've noticed that too. I managed to fix this problem by decreasing the refraction from 1.0 to 0.5-0.75 but the solution you've mentioned seems more legit to me.

Here is an update - the purple pixels are gone. AWESOME

Hey folks,

i came across a problem which is annoying me a lot.

scene:
red glas with refraction IOR 1.1
behind that glass i got a override material - black gloss, reflect 1.0, reflect IOR 1.52

When i render with default settings (primary and second Gi set to Path tracing) the parts behind the glass looks like burnt out. I managed to find the causer and its the secondary GI solver.

Is this a bug?

note: take a look at the purple pixels in attachemnt 3.

Ive did a carbon shader last night and i'm somehow not satisfied with it. It looks flat, even with normal bump map.

I need to test it further.

Comments are welcome ;)

@nkillar
Thanks. The model belongs to "taker". See the WiP here http://smcars.net/threads/rhino-nissan-gt-r-facelift.40047/

@nosalis
thank you, kind comment.

I'm missing the sunset feeling in this render. The light should come from the left (i know this HDRi package).
Illuminations on the ground from the headlights also mssing for good integration.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.

@Juraj
you are absolutely right, the highlights are very bad. I'm still a beginner when it comes to operating corona. Thanks for you feedback mate.

@Tomislavn
lol. This is my digital signature man. I'm using it decently next to the car because i made often bad experiences where my renderings were copied and cropped out with other watermarks.

My first final render after couple tests.

I'm really impressed by the amount fo speed you get with corona. This image took me about 2h starting from lighting till the postwork. Rendertime with motionblur for the wheels 30min.

Looking forward to your feedback.
