Would there be a fallback to previous bloom and glare appearance?
Yes, it's not yet integrated with the presets (nor the Corona Camera or CIE), but that is coming :)
I guess I do something wrong but the checkbox is out of order

What do you mean "out of order"? You are not able to check the "Custom aperture" checkbox?

Sorry for the confusion.
And yes, I'm not able to check this checkbox.

There's a checkbox inside the camera rollout of render settings. If you opened a scene created prior to this daily build, you will need to uncheck this box in order to use the new effects.
Great stuff guys! is this one based on vray's bloom and glare? or it's internal research from corona team alone?Yes, it's based on the V-Ray bloom and glare and the UI is reworked Corona-style. :)

Is it possible to add in future dirty lens effect and chromatic aberration? For now you can do it by creating your own custom aperture shape map/texture or make some from real lens (anything goes ;)
Is it possible to add in future dirty lens effect and chromatic aberration?"Dirty lens effect" is exactly what we have in this new bloom and glare effect (you can already download it and test it). Chromatic aberration is not here yet.
I wonder why new B&G editor is called custom aperture? From my understanding, bloom and glare effects has little to do with actual lens aperture.Real bloom and glare are dependent on both aperture and lens surface (and probably other things, like lens transparency, volume,...). But you are right - the name may be a little confusing. Maybe we can improve it.
Sadly i can't. I was tried to install two versions of corona with guide about environment variable - no luck, it was always load v5. And tried full install but also no luck, in plugin manager it was said failed to load(3ds max 2020). Also installer have problems with system scaling. https://i.imgur.com/MDjrz2K.jpgIs it possible to add in future dirty lens effect and chromatic aberration?you can already download it and test it

So i better wait full release =)
Hi all!Hi,
I guess the new Bloom and Glare effects are not finished yet but unfortunately the "old legacy" method now doesn't work as it should.
First of all, as the CIE doesn't have yet the new menu options, has no sense for now to use this in production, once you set it up before the final rendering process, the CRX file saved file doesn't work as expected.
I thought going back to the legacy way will work but the results are a bit bad and seems unusable now the legacy as well.
Did you find the same limitations for now?
Thanks!
Hi Rowan and thanks for getting back.
The legacy version now has nothing to do as result if compared to the real legacy one we were using till now.
It seems there is a problem with the size which is a new option of the new method but when we switch at the legacy one the behavior now is different.
I think the problem is evident when you open the saved CXR image back in the standalone CIE.
Thanks,
Dionysios -

Can you PLEASE post image examples? As Rowan mentioned, CIE does not support the new effects yet.
CIE doesn't have yet the new menu options
As usual with the daily builds all of the features can be considered experimental. The CIE will have the menu options for the new and legacy bloom and glares in the next daily build.
I think the problem is evident when you open the saved CXR image back in the standalone CIE.
CIE does not support the new effects yet
I guess maybe this happens as the CIE is not compatible with all this process yet?
Thanks!
I thought was correct to ask if you were aware or not about it.
D.
Thanks!

Sure, thanks for your report! I was just being a little bit sarcastic.

I've noticed! :D
No worries...
As this is a beta testing thread I try to communicate any strange behavior and sometimes I don't know if you are aware or not.
Better post our doubts than keep them secretly till the end of time.... :P
Can you guys make some presets for bloom and glare? because its take time to apply the effect and there too much parameters so i cant figure out
The new lens effects are just awesome! Much closer to photorealism!
Thanks for that!
