Hi all

For a product visualization I had to create a glass clock. The holder of the hands is in copper/gold (see picture).

Although I use the same "gold texture" one part is stronger/saturated gold and the other part is rather light.

I just can't figure out what is causing this. I want both parts to look the same strong gold.

I have attached the file, does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Thanks and greetings

Mike

Problem is related to model not to material. Some surfaces are perfectly flat... they reflect environment poorly. Try, for example to add a little fillet to the bolt (cylinder) caps, and a SDS cage to the ring and check how reflections change....

Hope it helps

Looks purely a ''reflection'' thang ;)

Yep, looks like reflection to me and accurate - the flat part on the wall is reflecting the back of the dark hands of the clock, while the screw thread is reflecting the bright white environment, leading to one looking darker and more saturated in the gold color (the ones reflecting the dark objects).

Hi all,

Another small issue - how can I avoid this glowing (see image)? :)

Is there somewhere a tick box ? :)

Many thanks

Maybe you have "bloom and glare" checked in post?

Thanks for the Tipp with Corona-Cam.... didn't was aware of that and gives much more options then the default.

Last question -> When rendering with transparent background as PNG, why does the object do have a thin white line ath the edge od the object. How can I avoid that?

Many thanks

Mike
