[C4D] I need help! / How do you save your images?

I am curious.

I always save as PNG for lossless compression, but I then get this menu asking about 8bit or 16bit and I have no idea what to choose.

I always go with 16 bit just in case...



I wonder, for Multi Pass to work... I need all my channels saved the same way right? That is if I choose PNG 16 bit all passes have to be saved that way. But it can also work with JPG as long as I save all passes as JPG?

Hi,

I find that the controls for the instances of the Scatter still could be much more complete. For one, it would be nice to be able to use 3D objects as attractors for scaling and inclusion/exclusion, not just splines.

Then it would be great it we could control the curve of this attraction, for example make it non-linear etc. Similar to what C4D can do with Cloner and Fields.

I was wondering which color mode to use when using .exr for displacement. Linear or Embedded? I can't find anything related to this in documentation, thanks!

Hi guys,

I wonder if it will be possible to use Chaos Scatter in combination with the powerful Cinema field systems?

For instance, it would nice nice to be able to scale instances based on fields, etc. Having scatter work with fields would open a whole world of possibilities.

This was done with cloner.

Hi,

Is it just me or Scatter is super slow with a distribution map inside C4D? I tried scattering primitive cube with 500 count and a noise with full contrast and big scale as a distribution map and it freezes for a couple of seconds. I cannon longer increase or decrease count live. When I delete the map, I can increase the clone count smoothly live.

Hi guys, I might be combining two requests in one, but I think it would be great so have some way of coloring or assigning materials based on a texture.

I think you can do this in 3dsmax as described here with the 'Surface Color map'.

A side from the simple color referencing which is not that flexible, what would be cool is to read color from C4D generated textures like this:




Lastly, it does not have to stop at color, but we could actually assign materials based on texture instead of just color. Here a dirty mock up:

Hi guys, I am looking for an alternative way to apply materials controlled by a texture.

Goal would be to have 1 single scatter and 1 material (layered or with multi shader).

This it what it would look like. With this shader:




It works yes, but not ideal. I had to create 2 scatter objects and invert the texture in one.

Just wondering if there is a smarter way out there. Thanks.

I don't know whats the best way to achieve this right now but it would be really useful to just exclude objects based on a plane, so that for instance, all objects below water plane get excluded. Thanks

So I noticed Chaos Cosmos in V-Ray opens a dedicated menu inside the program (Rhino3d at least) instead of on the explorer. Can we please have the same thing on Cinema? It isn't practical at all to have it open on the explorer. Thanks!

Hi,

I noticed Corona Scatter has the spline option, but for sloped terrain drawing splines is not ideal, instead, I want to sculpt a river and with a linear field eliminate the instances that fall below certain Y value.

Is this possible? How would you approach it otherwise?

This menu serves no purpose to me, I want to set the export settings before rendering, and once the render is done just click save.
Every time this pops up, and I need to manually change the settings for each image because it does not remember past settings...
Even if I create a preset, it does not remember that I selected that present, and I need to select my present again, for each image.

Also, why is JPG default set to 95% quality??



Is there a way we can get rid of this menu?

Hi guys, I wonder why Corona is the only renderer that is not supported by Bridge. To import assets I often have to change the render entine back to Standard or other to just import and asset, and then change it back to Corona and re do the material. Not ideal.

Can’t Corona devs and Quixel devs have a chat?
