Cast shadow with invisible object
Hello,
I'm a bit lost, i try to render trees but i only need the shadow on the ground.
Do you know how can i do? Is it possible to do this method with proxys or only objects?
Best-regards,
Damien

Re: Cast shadow with invisible object
Use a 'rayswitch' material.
Plug the tree material into the 'G.I.' slot and a 100% transparent material into the other 3.
Good luck.

You can try selecting your object (either the Forest object or the source geometry - you would have to try both), right-click > object properties > disable the "visible to camera" option.
