You can still install the Corona Material Library manually if desired or required, see https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4528215807761-How-to-install-the-material-library-in-offline-mode . Hope this helps!

[Max] I need help! / Re: Geometry Motion Blur
« on: Today at 19:01:04 »
Nothing in the plan, it's one of those very hard ones that would take a lot of dev time (if it is possible at all). You can check if the idea is on the Ideas Portal, if so vote for it, and if not, you can add it :) https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/ Thanks!

3
Be sure to have it added on the Ideas Portal too of course, before I forget to say that :) https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/

4
Snag with that is, as more and more features appear in collaboration, people will not realize it is there if they have it turned off, as they will forget it exists :)

5
Rather than make the tab disappear the solution would be to make sure it doesn't cause the error. I seem to remember this being reported somewhere else before, not sure if that was your post or not - easiest thing to do to make sure the fix is tracked is to submit a ticket via https://support.chaos.com/requests/new .

6
No plans for Corona 13, writing our own save routines would be a major undertaking and there was already too much in 13 for it to be in this round, sorry.

7
It's only for Max because C4D already does this (mentioned in the release documentation) - Max was the only one of the two that still reparsed the entire scene when timeline scrubbing with IR enabled. C4D already only parsed what had changed. So the answer is to when it's coming for C4D is, it was already there :)

EDIT: Also remember that this is only the REPARSING, when moving between frames - the initial parsing still takes as long.

BTW as of today, the final release of Corona 12 Update 2 is the most recent version. Soon there will be a daily build of Corona 13 (actually Corona 13), and then that will be newest build - but a daily of course, so it will be in-development. Corona 12 Update 2 will remain the current final release up until June when 13 comes out in final form :)

9
Can all be ignored - it's because we had to have these intermediate updates for technical reasons, but internally the code is just Corona 13, ie we've been working as normal where there was Corona 12 in November last year, and Corona 13 in June this year. For the required Update 1 and Update 2 that are not part of the usual release cycle, we just branched those off when it came time to release them.

And that is all over now, so just ignore it :) Things are back to business as usual!

10
Also let us know what is in Vantage Live Link Address, in System Settings in the Render Settings dialog (you can probably compare that to some equivalent setting from V-Ray, I haven't looked for it yet :) )

11
It is working here, 12 U 2 final, same Vantage as you, in Max 2026, and using as heavy a scene as I had to hand too.

12
Which version of Vantage do you have installed? And which version of Max are you running, while we are info gathering :)

13
You'd have to let us know the make and model of the Xeons. The compatibility is listed at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/4665349542417-What-are-the-system-requirements-of-Corona and nothing changed in terms of supported CPUs between versions, at least not deliberately. Are you getting any error messages? Are you sure it's not scene size and the sub PCs are not just running out of memory? Is Max updated to be the same version on all machines?

14
If you want to suggest it as native functionality, you can post the idea on the Ideas Portal at https://chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/ :) (or vote, if someone has already posted the same idea)

Chaos Corona 12, update 2 released for both 3ds Max & Cinema 4D
Corona 12, update 2 is primarily a technical release for some backend changes that needed to be made, but we're including some features that were being developed for Corona 13 and happen to be ready!

Full details: chaos.com/blog/corona-12-update-2
Download: my.chaos.com/download/build?product=Corona

What's new in Corona 12, update 2:
  • Chaos Scans are now available in Cosmos. Your favorite collection of 3,100+ scanned materials, now at your fingertips in Chaos Cosmos — making your workflow smoother than ever. Around 200 new archviz focused materials are also being added.
  • Automatic Virtual Tours. Generate immersive panorama virtual tours automatically with the new Auto Hotspots.
  • Per camera Global Volume Material override. Lets you set different global volume materials for each camera.
  • Differential Ray Filtering. Development of this was required for Toon Shading coming in Corona 13. It sharpens textures seen through refraction, some reflections, and in some special camera projections such as Spherical.
  • Faster IR Parsing when scrubbing on the timeline in 3ds Max. When you move to a different frame on the timeline with IR running, Corona no longer reparses the entire scene but instead only reparses any animated objects. Developing this was required for rendering via the Vantage Live Link in Corona 13. (Notes: does not affect final rendering, and was not required in Cinema 4D as it already does something similar)
  • New Minimap in the Corona Node Material editor in Cinema 4D. Now you can navigate around your materials with ease.
  • Converter improvements in Cinema 4D. Now converts V-Ray Clipper, V-Ray Triplanar, V-Ray Twosided material, V-Ray Blend material, V-Ray Geometry tag, V-Ray Proxy, V-Ray Decal, and V-Ray Enmesh.
  • And much more!
We also want to thank Iraban Dutta for 18 new LUTs included with the Corona installation - for any inquiries or further information, please contact iraban.3d@gmail.com, or advancedschoolofvray@gmail.com, or through https://www.youtube.com/@advancedschoolofvray
