Load the scene and start the IR in the viewport.
Select object "links" in the OM.
Rename it. Press enter. IR rerenders the scene without the normal map visible. I assume it's an issue with the vertex map shader I used.

Bonus: Stop the IR. Crash. Does not happen all the time, I guess ;)

Win 10, S22, V6 latest daily

I uploaded the normal texture via dropbox (the private uploader failed to work for me).

Hi Mike, I can't seem to find the file you are refering to. What was it called?

It's the same file as in my other IR report, it must have got lost in the mail, but I re-attached it here.
I did not get the crash with the latest daily but renaming "links" reliably loses the normal map in the IR until a restart.
I'll try to re-upload the normal map I used, too.

I am giving up trying the private uploader.
The upload stops and I get this message.
File's 75 MB.

When I uploaded with dropbox the other day, there were no errors.
The name of the file is Bricks06-nrm.jpg

But you can use any image you like there, the normal effect vanishes on renaming "links".

Could you reproduce the vanishing normal map effect in the viewport IR?

I couldn't actually. It seems to work as expected which is odd.

Here are my steps, happens reliably all the time (with any map or shader I use).

A file for everybody to try with just shaders. Rename "links" and lose the normal effect in the IR.

Confirmed that it happens here with that file, in R21, latest daily.

In fact if I do this - open your scene, create a cube, apply that material to the cube (interestingly perhaps, the material preview does not show any sign of the normal map effect), start IR, rename the links object, I get a crash :)

Thx for giving it a try.
Yes, this scene crashes a lot (had 3 now in the past minutes, with R21 and S22), even touching an object in the OM is risky.
I DO blame the vertex map shader, since I had issues with vertex maps and Corona in earlier versions already, but they were gone-

I actually should take that back!
It seems it is the layer shader that causes the issue.
I applied the vertex map directly in the attached scene (does not make much sense, but it serves as a proof of concept) and I can rename the object as I like and there are also no crashes.

It also happens with bump instead of normal and not with the layer shader in another mode than layer mask.
Gotta stop now and do something even more destructive: Going shopping in that heat ;)

It's a combination of the vertex map shader and the layer shader in mask mode.
With a checkerboard shader as a mask, you can rename without issues, with the vertex map you get the "blank effect".

Not risking divorce, going shopping now!
