We are hopefully near to A6 release date... As this is aproaching, i installed the latest daily build here, and when openning my A5 scenes a lot of annoying little things needs adaptations...

     - All my rectangle lights changes it´t direction... (flipped)
     - All my sphere lights changed it´s size (Now they are HUGE on the scene...
     - Surelly some bump values are not good anymore to A6/daily
     - CameraMod is loaded as "MissingPlugin" and lost my values. :(
     etc...

So... What about to have an script that scan the scene and make all proportional changes to be on par (at least an aproximation) with A5 projects. I am sure it will be a valuable tool for so many projects already done on A5...

Bad idea ?   This is a Request, cause i am not good enough with Maxscripts to write it by myself...

I tried to put a simple noise on Displacement Slot and Bang ! Crashed Corona + Max. :(

I am testing on the latest Build  Nov 13 2013 00:09:21

BTW : I was just using A5, and now installed the latest build. I just overwrite the files on Max, not deleted anything (older files...) Is this a problem ?

Sorry to report "bugs" from A5, i am not using Daily Builds on production. The would like to have 2 machines to use A5 for production and Daily Builds for testing (on another machine)...But that's not the case...

I am releasing some Render Passes using 2014 State Sets and it seams that State Sets can't record Corona Light intensity... Maybe it's a 3dsmax bug, a corrupted state sets (not rare to happen) but maybe it's a Corona bug...
Sorry if this was fixed on early builds...

I am using Deadline to submit jobs to Network Rendering and everytime i try to render something on corona, using render elements, the Deadline Submition script crashes. So i have to render the elements on my local machine and only the Beauty using corona on network...

It looks like that's a problem with Deadline right ? Not on Corona...Or maybe it's a kind of bug ? (Any other render goes ok(Scanline, Vray, Mentalray, etc).

Hello there !

I am a Corona Evangelist. As Ondra helped me a lot with this tool, the minimum payback i could do is to do the word-of-mouth and spread the Corona Religion to the world (my world, friends, co-workers, etc...)

I just created a Unofficial Facebook Group for "Portuguese speakers". So, i would like to invite everyone who want to discuss about corona and share your evolution, complains and works using this tool to visit this link -> https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronabr/

The main language is Portuguese (Portugal, Brazil, etc). For english, people should use the official Corona facebook Page here -> https://www.facebook.com/CoronaRenderer?fref=ts

I was thinking... Why not to create a Vimeo Channel for Corona animations ?

I know that TOO early for this kind of Request, and it´s not, by any chance, a priority, but that´s something incredible nice to have. :)

It´s something like "post Effects" but based on scene information, and adds a lot of realism.

A friend of mine directed and worked on a INCREDIBLE animation for UFC Rio de Janeiro Edition. They´re are using Maxwell. And they are just waiting Corona to implemente SSS to start to test it.
So,he was talking to me about how incredible is the light scattering/rendering/post effects in Maxwell, and talked about simulens with me...

      So , here am i ! :)

Take a look at this incredible work (Maxwell) :
But he was talking about rendetimes too. And it´s almost impossible to use Maxwell if you don´t have a HUGE renderfarm. About 18 up to 50hrs/frame !!!
Lol. But the results are insane.

Hi Ondra. I will try to report it properly soon, but this weekend i was doing an animation, and did some render tests. It was an animation test, and for "no reason" some objects on the scene are not accepting motionblur ?! There´s 4 or 5 objects on the scene and one of then just render without motionblur when rendering one frame of tha entire scene. I don´t know, but it smells like a bug, but i am trying to figure out, what´s special with this particular object to not receive motion blur.

One more info, it´s not a single object, but an object made by a bunch of objects (4-5 parts) all of then linked to a point helper, and the point helper is animated moving and rotating those objects. There´s other objects on scene animated the same way and they are rendering Motionblur Correcly...

Any clue ? I will send an zip file with the scene.

Hello there guys ! Long time since my last posts on this forum. Busy season !  :) But i am still using Corona on a daily basis as personal renderer and on my work (production) as much as possible.
I am crazy about to start some new image...
Some days ago, i´ve discovered that 2 of my images, made using Corona are listed on a site called CGTRADER, among other incredible artwork. I am glad !

     http://www.cgtrader.com/blog/2013/07/16/welcome-to-the-mind-trap-35-most-photorealistic-3d-renderings/

Then, 1 or 2 days after this first article the Gizmodo website posted a shorter list, based on that first list, selecting 9 of the "most realistic" CGI images... And again, one of my images are listed. :)

I hope this kind of stuff helps to boost Keymaster brains to keep the excellent work ! More and More people around me, friends, coleagues and random people are getting it´s atention caught by Corona, and asking about it.
I am happy to get the chance to "Payback" Ondra, with my little contribution, spreading the good word about Corona and spreading Artworks made using this Engine. We are a few users among a LOT of render engines, but we can call atention with our work, that´s a good way to atract people to test and support it. :)
thanks and, please, apologize my english errors !

Gallery / Candy Intruder
« on: 2013-06-10, 00:36:53 »
Here my final version of this image ( the wips are on Wip Area). :)

Original image rendered with 6K Width.
Corona V5. I got some crashes during the hi-res render using the V5 RC, but i guess there´s something with memory. But on the other hand, i have 32Gb of ram... A couple of times the render crashed on the Parsing step, but i just close and open the project again (Clean memory) and it render ok. ;)

       PT + HD Cache.

Work in Progress/Tests / PacMan Ghost Candy
« on: 2013-06-03, 23:34:28 »
I saw a nice image on the internet with those Pacman´s ghost candies. So i felt an itch on my hand and i ran to Corona...

I will update  it with some more details  before considering the study finished. :) Now it´s a Wip Study. :)

   PT+HDcache 1 HDR + 1 Corona Light (acting like a near "window")

    Now with Version 3 (Updated) 04_Jun_2013 :)

Update 3 - Final image is near. The bright on the eyes edges are TERRRIBLE. :( Need to improve this.) Thks for the comments ! :)

Update 5 on the image. Subtle adition of details, like "Candy dust" on the tin case, better scale for the candies (boldier) and little adjusts, not satisfaied yet with the Eye edge specular on it´s eyes...

    Next update soon. :)

Update 6 Pre-Final More candy dust (but not totally happy cause i want it more subtle and lighter/better). Paper with some stuff written... A bolt on the table, better specs on the eyes. Next (final version) will feature a little and solo PacMan Candy inside the box. :)

[Max] General Discussion / Parallax Mapping ? :)
« on: 2013-05-31, 21:58:28 »
This is not so requested. I don´t even now if it´s usefull on a daily Basis, i am posting this more like to share the nice effect ILM archieved using a Parallax shader to simulate intrincated in-depth cracks on ICE piece.
Very curious and nice use of Parallax Mapping...

There´s any comecial render supporting it ?

It´s the first Wip (started from scratch yesterday).

Hope to have time to finish a scene using it. :) (updated the imagem with a newer one in 05-05)

Work in Progress/Tests / Ed209 - Wip Scene
« on: 2013-04-26, 19:44:54 »

Hey. Someone posted a ED209 model on Facebook, and as a HUGE fan of this robot design i´ve asked the modeler if i can try to render it. So, last night i got the model, modeled this simple room (to have something to reflect) and shaded/lit/render it.

This Robot is so nice that it not deserves a simple scene like that. Too Squared, too "ilustrated". I wanna make some much more visceral and dramatic using it. I am not even using any textures on this render. Only procedural (on the floor).

    So it´s a Wip scene. :)

BTW. I could not get rif of some noise (check the robot Pelvis as instance), sometimes i have this kind of huge noise splotches on "Penumbra" areas . (I don´t know if Penumbra has a translation, but it´s on the darken (not direct light areas with very soft shadow...)

I´ve set the Direct Visibility Overide to show a Background Plate. I am using an HDR for light/reflections on the enviroment...

Take a Look. It´s showing a CUBE on the output render?! :(

Work in Progress/Tests / GraphSpeeder
« on: 2013-04-20, 09:38:11 »
This is and old project for a personal short film. Today i´ve found the project and ported to Corona. :) 2:50s for this frame Pt-Pt (noisy of course)
, but impressive speed (almost all materials have glossy reflections)
I hope to finish the modeling (there´s a LONG way to go) and start some motion tests. :)
