I started to have doubts last night because I know that some things are cheap.
I try to fill this lack of realism and details with the atmosphere.

I have no idea what you're talking about, the teaser looks amazing. And the fact that you are rendering it on a single i7 machine with 32 gigs of RAM, is just mindblowing! Can't wait to see the whole thing.

Thank you so much!
I will work hard to finish this project this year :)

Hi everyone,

I share with you today, a short teaser of a fan project that I'm working on it since several months.
The final project will be a CGI short fan movie (around 3 minutes) on the theme of Lost woods of Hyrule.
The entire project is calculated in 3840x1634 pixels natively on Corona Renderer on a single computer (mine).
The configuration is: intel i7 6800k, 32go, gtx 1070
Of course the main difficulty is the rendering times in 4k. But I'm really pleasantly surprised, I'm between 30 and 50 minutes per frame.
Of course this is  project i do for fun, and there are a lot of things to fix. I plan to complete the project during the 2020 year.
I hope you will enjoy this first preview, in 4k.
I regularly post my project progress on the networks, don't hesitate to take a look.

@MattCo
Thank you!
Particle affect are simply footages of particles in screen mode.

Thank you so much guys ! :)

@maru: Yes, I wanted to render a little bit longer on each frame to have less noise, but I was running out of time for the CG Archi Award.
It's was the biggest challenge :)

Thank you very much cecofuli.
Some camera shot have DOF in 3D and some others have DOF with AfterAffect. I had to cheat to save time.

I added an attachment image.

46 euros, it's cool :D And passion has no price :D

Hi everyone.
After my last personnal project, I wanted to make a short film of this. Of course I used Corona.
The biggest problem was render time. I watched around Renderfarm but it was too expensive for a personal project. So I decided to render on my own computer.
I only have one computer with an i7 6800k. I set the rule not to exceed 20 minutes of rendering per frame, and I used the corona Denoiser to delete the noise.
((70s of film x 25 frames)x20min)/60 -> around 580 hours of rendering for my poor computer :D  Now I'm waiting my electricity bill :D
So this is the result.

ps: I don't know how to make a thumbnail image

I'm having 20%-30% increased render times with the new version, max 2017.
There's also a few vray materials that do not render as vray mats and need conversion (not a big deal but I thought to flag it).

As romullus said, Corona calculates noise level slightly different.
But I have the same problem. With the same noise limit (around 9%) the render time with the version 2.0 is longer and more noisy that 1.7.4 :/
I use max 2014.

I don't know for other people, but me my rendering time for my animation goes from 20 to 30 minutes between 1.7.4 to 2.
Am I the only one in this situation ?
If you're using noise limit as stopping condition, it could be because Corona calculates noise level slightly different between each major version. Try to set it on time limit and compare two frames from 1.7 and 2 for visual difference in noise. If you see that render from 2 is noisier, then indeed, something is wrong and should be investigated.

Indeed, I use noise limit. Thank you for your fast answer :) I will try it.

Sorry about the late answer. No I didn't use PBR materials.

Thank you!
Lighting is simple too. Corona sky + sun + some portals. I didn't use hdri here.

@ free4all
Thank you!
I don't know what to say about white walls. In all my projects, I try to respect the real way to light and shade my scene, and don't fake anything as much as possible.

@ cjwidd
No I'm not using it. Floor was modeled by myself.
Box -> Edit Poly -> Noise-> Duplicate -> change the noise seed
Simple ;)
