Hi John

Thank you! But I surely have more recognition than I deserve hahah. I think the recognition comes from the quality of your work and luck. And I've had a lot of luck. I still have a lot of improvement to do.

Yes, choosing furniture is hard. It may be what I spend the most time doing in a project and for me, it involves a lot of trial and error. One of the virtues of 3d, I don't have to pay for the furniture every time I want to try something hahaha.

Thanks for sharing the web with the noise. I am going to do some tests to see how they look, on the web are looking top

For the noise I use the regular filter from photoshop but I do a luminosity mask to add more noise in the dark areas.

Maybe you can try corona rayswitch material to simplify it and get better render times. I did not try it with glass cabinets but for mirrors works great.

Thank You!

I usually render everything in between 3000 and 4000 px depending on the intended use for the image. In this case I wanted to try to render at a standard resolution for a digital camera to see if the image holds up. The render noise was 4% but I added some (a lot) noise in post. In commercial projects I don't usually add so much, but in these personal projects I'm more loose when it comes to post production.

As for the rendering time, I don't remember exactly how long it took. It did take a long time to render, although it depends on what you mean by long. Since I don't have such a good computer, all my render times tend to be long. I think an image like this could take between 5 to 7 hours.

Inspiring work at always!

Hi Jack! it is a mix of arroway designcraft vol 4, cgsource for the architecture and for the furniture ones I scan myself

Really nice work again.

Where do you get the inspiration from for the architecture/spaces that you create.  Do you design them (architect background?), are they repurposed commercial jobs or are they based on existing spaces you've seen online?  This question is for all of your projects :)

Also I'd love it if you did a mini breakdown of how your using Sun/Sky Clouds to achieve that lovely soft sunlight in some of your recent Insta posts.  Have you found a specific combination that works each time?  I'm currently experimenting with the clouds cover/shadows for interiors but finding the slightest change of settings can affect the image dramatically.

Hi,

Yes, I worked as an architect before dedicating full time to architectural visualization. I do personal projects from scratch and if I ever use them in commercial projects it's because clients ask me to use that specific space. I usually start with some reference and try to make something new from there. For example, this latest project is inspired by the residential architecture of Sean Godsell.

I have the same problem with corona sky as you, that is why I don't use it too much. I only use it when I need to be very precise with the sun direction and have control over the hardness of the shadows. Like for example when the light passes through a tree. For the setup, I start aiming the sun in the direction I want and then play with the cloud values. I attached the lightsetup of two of the scenes. You will see that I have 2 suns. One is linked to the sky and the other is independent, and I use lightmix to regulate the intensities. The idea is to have the lighting on 3 levels:

The first level is a base sun (direct light) that will do exactly what I want it to do and is not affected by the sun.

A second level where the sun is affected by the clouds.

And in the third level the sky that will more or less take care of the global illumination.

Hi to everyone!

I just wanted to share a small project. This is a space originally intended for a commercial work but, in the end, it was discarded. The original project was reduced in size and fragmented into different parts. Of which only one ended up being used. If you are interested in watch the diferent fragments you can see them in my behance. DOI, DOI 2.0 and Void showroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Program: 3dsmax, CoronaRenderer 8, adobe photoshop.

Hi

I always use the default settings of Corona and also leave the camera settings as default. I always adjust everything from the VFB. The only parameter I touch is the f-stop value, I usually set it between 6 and 12 depending if it's a detail or a general view, and check the depth of field box.

I attach a screenshot of the VFB so you can see the values I used in this project.

These are looking so beautiful! Very poetic imagery! You have any tips for the amazing couch fabric? how many scatterings do you have on it?

Thank you!

The setup is quite simple. It's just two scatters, one with some type of ball with hair on top and the other with simple hairs. The scatter is set to grid mode and with a texture that controls the scale. As I said in the previous comment I had to simplify the base scatter so the objects look a bit weird

Damn dude. These are stunning.

Yep, the only thing that sticks out is the couch fabric, could use some attention. I like the scatter workflow for the carpet (I use it too) but those footprints are a bit too much :)

Well done.

Edit: Upon further inspection, that throw rug you have looks amazing! Also scatter I guess?

I agree the coach is not perfect. It has been a balance between realism and performance. I started with a fairly complex model for the scatter but I quickly realized that my computer couldn't handle it, so I had to simplify things and lost realism in the process.

Hello.

I wanted to share my latest personal project. Everything is quite standard in its development. The only aspect that could be more interesting are the fabrics of the interior furniture, as they have all been created using corona scatter which I think is the best workflow for this kind of fabrics. I hope you like it.

If you have any comments, I would love to hear them.

Software used: Corona render, 3dsmax, Adobe Photoshop.

Amazing work! The lightning is indeed stunning! I was wondering what kind of flooring did you use? It looks extremely natural and I doubt that this is just a plugin like floor generator?

Hi! I use floor generator and a texture from texture supply https://texturesupply.gumroad.com/l/Floor001. I made individual planks color correct them inside 3dsmax and apply them to floor generator

Stunning work - very atmospheric.

Can I ask how you're setting up your environment lighting (HDRI or Sun/Sky?). I've got a project on at the moment that requires a similar overcast/neutral look and any tips would be great.

Hi! I have used 2 hdri to light the scene. One is just a regular hdri and the other is an hdri without sun. With this setup, I can control with corona light mix both individually and adjunct the intensity of the sun in a very easy way. I attach an image explaining the setup

Stunning! The perfect blend of classic architecture and contemporary minimalism that Denmark is so good at. Here in Sweden, architects seldom get it right.

Hi! Thank you for the comment. I am glad you like it
