We are also experiencing alot of photons instead of proper caustics. Its a house on coast and caustics don`t work. We just get alot of photons/splotches around. Can`t share it atm, but will made a test with this problem and send your way.

Maru, I will send it soon, but it is definetly regarding scene size. It`s a big chunk of land around 1km in diametar, so when caustic is rendered in full scene it just doesn`t show, when only the house is isolated it works. Hope it helps.

Rendering larger scenes with caustics already works better than in some older builds (I would advise testing in V4 HF1 and the newest daily build).

We work in V4 HF1, didn`t test any db`s.
