Hello,

let's assume that I have mapped plane and instances of box on this plane. Is possible for mapping those boxes in way of getting color from position boxes stand on?
F.e. left box color blue, right box color white, middle one color orange, etc.
If it is posiible, is this also possible in corona scatter?

My first thought would be to apply the same UV map to all objects, so that they would all be coloured in the same way. Without scatter, I've done this just by selecting all the objects and applying a UV Map modifier, but can't speak to the workflow using scatter.

Hmm, Crysis 1 editor had a similar option to make the grass varied, "borrowing" color from the texture on the ground. So I'm guessing this option would be useful for the same thing.

When watching grass (or other types of plants) from above, the colors are not uniform

I think this should be possible with particles. However AFAIK Corona had some problems with it.... I will try to test it later.

There is a way(s) to achieve that in 3ds max through camera map world space modifier. It works with Corona, but not with CoronaScatter unfortunatelly. Although you can use max's native scatterer.

Forest Pack (Pro) can do exactly this in any case, maybe also the Lite version? Have not checked:

Good Luck!

Never underestimate the power of a well placed level one spell.

Yeah, Forest and Multiscatter do this very easily. I kept doing grass color this way, by mapping a photo and the blades diffuse would take tone from it.

Thx for replies. So i have to try forest lite version and see if it works. But i like corona scatter much - simple and fast, it would be great if corona team could add such option in scatter:)
