Hi.
A client wants me to make fire to an animation. The fireplace is open from the sides and as the camera moves, I wouldnt want the fire to be
a simple plane with animation which then rotates with the moving camera [LookAt Constrain].
I tried to search from this forum but as we now have Corona 3, does anyone know would there be a simple way to create flames?

Or do I have to use Atmospheric apparatus :)

Thanks.

For absolute realism, Phoenix FD or FumeFX, or an openvdb exported from those or other software such as Houdini and loaded into a Corona Volume Grid)

There's a downloadable fire here :  http://www.openvdb.org/download/
Not sure about the animation and scale.

I know that's not what you are asking for but I thought it might help in future or for far shots, (and it is free!).

I think Phoenix is a very good option as it comes with few one-click-presets if you are not familiar with this kind of simulation before.
the free 30 days trial is fully functional and if you don't do much work of this kind you can rent a license for 70$ per month when needed.
I'm not sure if there are any limitations with Corona tho, As the guy who does effects here render these stuff with another renderer.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

Only limitation with Phoenix FD is no support for foam at this time - everything else should work just as expected :)

Forgot to answer but this right here will do perfectly for me.
There was some problems as Corona didnt understand the .mov files as texturemaps, opened .mov files in premiere and exported as JPG.
Works perfectly and did a simple turntable-animation to see the flames.
Big thanks!
