When hide unused nodeslots is activated, an output handle is missing in Corona maps that were enhanced with multiple inputs / outputs. That makes work in slate editor unnecessarily frustrating.

Not here to provide any help, hope I'm not hijacking. I am genuinely curious why do you use the slate editor?

I understand that using controllers can be great for multiple inputs (like coordinates etc) otherwise why is it preferred over the standard material editor? Do you ever switch between them or you stay constantly in slate?

To be honest i don't even know what to say about that. I see old material editor as ancient completely obsolete tool. I'm struggling to understand why it's still so appealing to many artists. And yes, i'm working only in slate editor, haven't touch old editor even once since i switched.

If you click on "+" the handle will appear again. I agree we shouldn't have to do that as the handle shouldn't be disappearing but at least it works.

@James Vella: same as romullus, since I switched to the SME I wouldn't see myself using the standard mtl again. The SME is so much more convenient, I love the gui and nodal mode, but I guess it's a personal choice and I can understand some artists want to stick to the old editor.

Hm ok interesting. Personally I use both depending on what I'm doing, but I find the old one much faster to work with. From my perspective I like the fact its thin and vertical, instead of wide and horizontal. I also think nodes are overkill unless doing complex tasks or using multiple in/outputs. For me I much prefer layer systems over node systems, even though I use nodes for many different applications, its great for procedural thinking but sometimes I want to keep my thinking linear - reminds me of using photoshop vs nuke/natron.

Each to their own of course.
