Send along the ideas, we'd love to hear them :) If I remember reading other forum threads, you'll have done this via Mantis as Feature Suggestions, so that is awesome if so!

The current plan is focused on improving the workflow for what it is today. For longer term, we'd like to see what it is that users request most often before coming up with any "next steps". As with all things Corona, feedback from you plays a very large part in the direction! With it being in beta, don't want to look too far ahead yet as everything would be very much subject to change at this point. Best place to watch for news about it is on our blog, and here on the forums too of course.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it, and ty for giving feedback on possible features!

Awesome! I always love all things VR, it is a great experience being "inside" a scene and getting a true sense of space and depth - I am always surprised at just how huge a change it is from viewing a 2D version :) If anything can't be shared publicly, can always send it across to grimes@corona-renderer.com.

Hi!

Just as a note, though the VRWarp helper object isn't in C4D, you can use the Desktop Warp Editor to add your warps to your images after rendering. It can be downloaded from here: tiny.cc/warpeditor

There's a beta tutorial available on our YouTube at

This will allow you to fully use CoronaVR from C4D, just that you have to create the warps after you render, rather than embedding them in the render (for the moment, at least). Hope this helps!

Most welcome, hope it helped some - if ever you do experiment with such a map or arch-viz plan, I would be interested to see the results :)

[C4D] Resolved Feature Requests / Re: denoising and DR

If I am interpreting the request correctly, then this is already there - you can create multiple VirtualBeauty render elements, each with a different Denoise amount (which would let you mask between them in post to have different Denoise amounts in different parts of the image). It is the same functionality as in the 3ds Max Beauty render element.

I think this one is there already:

Would be hard to do with the active view angle on it in 3D I would think, since it would have to be overlaid in 3D space rather than in 2D. Being accessible to be "looked at" and "clicked on" would be the the other challenge - if it always hovered in the same place no matter where you looked, you could never look at it to click on it!

What would be possible today would be to add it as an actual object to your 3D scene (a 2D plane with the image on it), and you could create warp points on it that would correspond to the location you want to warp to. It wouldn't hover over the 3D space no matter where you looked like this 2D one does, as it would occupy a certain place in the room just as if it was a real object, so not quite the same as what is shown here. It would also have to be large enough to have the warp points clearly separated for ease of use for the user. The downside to that is it would only be seen if looking in that direction, and being an actual object, would obscure whatever was behind it. Just a thought!

The Corona Camera Tag supports the Spherical Projection and Enable VR Mod (Stereo) so you can certainly create 360 degree stereo panoramas - scroll down to the bottom of the Corona Camera Tag settings.

At present, the VRWarpHelper isn't in C4D for making the warp points  in the 3D scene, so that aspect of the tutorials wouldn't apply. Every other consideration and step (e.g. image resolution etc) would be the same, though!

EDIT adding an attachment showing the settings in C4D

It's in beta at the moment so not available through the store - this page has all the info you need to sign up, and tutorials on how to use it! corona-renderer.com/vr/

Corona Renderer 1.6 for 3ds Max released!

Full details and download over at our blog: https://corona-renderer.com/blog/corona-renderer-1-6-for-3ds-max-released/

Here are just a few highlights of what this release brings you!

- Faster rendering thanks to new Stratified random sampler, improved sampling of HDRIs with high contrast, lowered RAM usage.
- Major updates to Distributed Rendering, with 3ds Max pre-started on slaves to reduce waits, automatic sharing of assets across the network when needed, better UI, and more!
- Improved Interactive Rendering, with subsampling for faster rendering, fuzzy render regions, and more!
- The new Corona Image Editor lets you use LightMix, apply Denoising and adjust post-processing outside of your 3D application!
- LightMix now can be baked into the scene, making it the easiest way to get the lighting you want, and the automatic set-up has been improved with more options and information.
- Improved Corona Scatter with many new options such as scattering in regular patterns, and along splines.
- Support for 3ds Max 2018.
- And way too much more to list here, see the blog for full details: https://corona-renderer.com/blog/corona-renderer-1-6-for-3ds-max-released/

Actually it was a 4K spherical, resized it to 1,2 and 8K, still didn't work in the 360 photos app. I did get a stereo effect from a cubemap, but it was reversed left-to-right - I did read somewhere that 360 Photos has it's own particular expectation for the order of images in a cubemap, apparently different from the "standard". Hope this helps!

TY for the example! That one isn't currently possible with CoronaVR - only tested the example in a web browser, so not sure if that is something that works in any VR application at the moment (that is, one where you can view it in stereo on a VR device, vs. a pano you can view in 2D on a web browser).

Pretty sure this used to work, but looks like at some point during the frequent updates to GearVR / Oculus, you now just get a flat pano image rather than stereo. My guess is that the 360 Photos app is now looking for a different image format (could be related to image resolution as the test image I used was the 8K one from earlier in the thread that Marcin made; or perhaps it now only works with cubemap rather than spherical) - best bet would be to follow up with Oculus and see what format it is expecting these days, or of course use CoronaVR :)

I haven't found any conclusive or useful info with a search for how 360 Photos works with stereo panos these days (and in fact, due to that, I've been using a Cardboard app to view stereo photos or panos if I want to check them outside of CoronaVR, as just doesn't seem to be reliable info on what 360 Photos is expecting these days for stereo images).

Hi INgenia!

Not sure which of the two you are asking about :) Custom music is something we may look into, it is technically possible I believe. On the other issue, I still don't understand what that is - could you provide a description, or example, of what it is you would like to do as "setting up a map or an arch drawing". ty!
