Is there a way to bake an HDRI texture with corona?  I built a scene I'd like to convert, however doesn't look like the "bake texture" tag works for corona, it yields odd results , most of which are solid black, and only supports the standard c4d texture channels.

thanks for posting this!

Isn't the AC6 (Final) they posted Dec 21 newer though?

Is there a way to have the multi-pass renders be named what they are?  For example the final renders are named "post1_00001.exr", "post2_00001.exr", "post3_00001.exr", etc.  Instead of "beauty_00001.ext", "reflection_00001.exr", "mask1_00001.exr", "mask2_00001.exr", etc.

In the viewport renderer, I can go to layers and see that all the passes are labeled in this way, but when they are saved, they are all named "post1", "post2", "post3", etc.

Hey Thanks!  I had to set it to 2000 everything was still black at 100.  I didn't even think to account for the scale of the scene till you mentioned that!  Still it'd be nice if there was a place that went over everything like that, the current manual doesn't say anything about setting the range, I've been spoiled by C4D's help manual!  Anyways, I think I was looking for this, https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000515645
it helps explain the passes a little bit better.

Thanks again!

Last issue is the material/object ID's going crazy, but I think that might have been because of a team render situation, I noticed that every time a hit the render button the colors in the ID pass randomize, so 6 different computers rendering the same animation could create 6 different looking ID passes.  Wonder if that's a bug worth reporting to Corona?

Well I'm an idiot, I wasn't checking the right box for the object ID's to create a separate pass for each object, however I still can't create a z-depth pass.  Anyone else having that problem?

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Teamrender missing plugins.
« on: 2016-12-19, 21:36:50 »
In case anyone else finds this... I solved this issue by physically copying the "Corona" folder found in the plugins folder to the appropriate place.  Seems the corona installer, installs corona for use of the full c4d app, which means it's actually in the wrong folder if you have only installed team render, you just have to move the "Corona" folder into the "team render" - "plugins" folder.

Is there any documentation that explains the multi-pass system in Corona?  I'm getting it to work for the most part, but hitting a few road blocks with the z-depth, and IDs/Object Buffers

I can't get any z-depth pass to render anything, but black.
I can't seem to create a pass that just has 1 single object matted in it, I can create a pass that has a different color matte for every visible object, which would be fine, but the colors shift and go crazy over the course of an animation any idea what I'm doing wrong? I attached an example.

Even if there is a link to some documentation that explains all the passes and how to use them would be very much appreciated!

Hi, I'm having a similar problem, but only windows team render clients.  I have Corona for C4D A6 RC2 installed on my windows machine and it works great.  I have corona installed on a mac client with team render client, and it works great.  But my windows client machines give a "missing textures" error, even when the scene isn't using bitmap textures.  Any idea why my windows clients are kicking back, but my mac clients aren't?

I'm wondering if it is because of the way you have it modeled now, the entire thing is a solid within a solid. A real snow globe's glass would have a thickness to it, and then whatever was inside of it would be free floating or suspended in liquid.

I'd say give it a try with the globe having a thickness to it as opposed to a solid sphere and see if that fixes your problem.

I thought that too, but when I do that, there is no refraction at all, no matter what settings I use. See attached picture and project for example of results... and again, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I am not sure, but guessig this could be the "dark highlights behind solid glass" issue, which is already fixed in 1.5:

One solution is to use thin glass mode. Another one is using rayswitch (both solutions are explained in that guide).

I'm actually on C4D Alpha 5, so maybe that's something coming later?  One of the Corona guys put on a demo a few days ago and mentioned C4D Alpha 6 is due any day now.

I'll start saying I'm not very experience with physically based renders, so maybe this is normal, if that's the case please let me know haha

I'm experimenting with a snow globe and depending on the refractive index on the reflection channel, the highlights on a glossy object inside the globe will disappear.
The globe was created with a simple sphere object and placing a standard corona texture on it, with only reflection and refraction enabled.
There is 1 large area light directly above the globe.

I attached screenshots of what I'm seeing.  Is this normal behavior?
I also attached my C4D project file if anyone is interested in taking a look.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Working Setup?
« on: 2016-09-29, 16:22:06 »
Ok well I installed a couple different drivers and found one that seems to be working for now, I think it's fairly stable, given I'm not doing anything very intense or demanding by any means, but I have openGL on, navigating is pretty good, and rendering is pretty good, seems fairly stable, it might crash a littler here or there, but nothing more than normal.

Again, I'm on Win7, C4D R16.050
Nvidia K5000
NVidia Driver Version: 341.96
I changed the "Threaded optimization for C4D ON", usually it's on auto.

Not that Nvidia or Maxon care at this point since the card and the software are outdated, but maybe this will help someone else.

Thanks again for all the replies and advice!

Well at least now I know I'm not crazy!  haha
Thanks for all the detailed feedback guys!

I heard Alpha 6 is due any day now, maybe that'll bring the IPR back online.

Anyone experiencing the issue I mentioned of messing with a material and your system becoming pretty unresponsive while C4D/Corona renders the little preview icon of the material?

For example when I check "Reflection", "Refraction", and "Translucence" I have to sit and wait for C4D to update the preview icon before I can even start adjusting settings.

Thanks for replies guys!  Weird, I wonder if Corona just agrivates the OpenGL situation more?  Because I was messing with C4D's other render options to make sure it actually was Corona and C4D wasn't crashing...  Maybe it's the OpenGL C4D rub that gets accelerated when dealing with Coronas Materials?

I will say I think it hangs mostly with the IPR, when I hit the play button, it ramps the CPU's up to 100% and I can't really do anything and hitting the stop button does nothing, I have to force quit most every time.  Or it will hang when trying to mess with materials (not navigating).  Making changes to a material forces the little material preview icon to update, which ramps the CPU's up to 100% in order render the little preview icon and C4D becomes completely unresponsive for quite awhile, sometimes it never recovers.

Anyways, maybe I just need to update C4D haha, does the OpenGL issue resolve itself with R18?
Are you guys all using the IPR without issues?

Thanks again for your replies I really appreciate it!

Would a few of you mind posting your working setup specs or offer some advice?  Corona is causing C4D to hang every couple minutes or less and I'm thinking it might a driver conflict or something, but I've installed multiple different drivers, and I'm not finding any other workarounds.

My current setup:
C4D R16.050
Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1
Nvidia K5000 (Driver: 341.96)
CPU: 2x Intel E5-2687W 3.40GHZ
64GB Ram
Wacom Intuos 3

Thanks!
