Hey Haggi

Finally got back around to testing again.

I have to say that I'm so impressed.  This actually makes rendering fun again (for me at least).  I'll certainly be trying this out on more complex scenes soon.

I've not really run into any massive problems with anything so far apart from some jaggy reflections when lowering the glossiness on the shader, but this disappeared in a different scene.  It seems to be mainly an issue with reflecting anything with the light material and not other surfaces.

Anyway, I'll keep doing what I can to keep testing!

Cheers

Gaz

Hey Haggi

Just a UI issue for the moment in that the dock attribute editor for shaders doesn't scroll but runs behind the time line.  Undocking still runs off my screen so I can't see all the attributes available.

Ignore me completely.  Was just a bug with my session and happened to coincidentally arise on my first run of 0.35

All seems well

Hey Haggi

Again, really grateful for all the hard work.  It has been a few version since I've been able to look at it, just not had time.  Integration is starting to feel great though.  I'm not getting any warnings or anything now.

I'll keep testing though and see what else comes up!

Thanks again.

CON12, just check you've not got a duplicate dll anywhere for corona.  This could live in your maya prefs.  This is going to cause a conflict and your render globals to fail.

That should fix it for you!

Ahhh okay thanks for trying, I'll have a look if I can find the problem.
Indeed. Smooth preview will cause a crash. I created an issue on gibhub and I'll try to fix it.

Nice one.  Glad to know its not just me :-)

Yeah I have been using geo.  I was just wondering about regular lights...

using maya lights I mean.  Using an emission texture on an object resolves this/.

Hey,

So I removed the entire folder. I can render some of the example scenes, for example "firstOne" "blendColors" "raytrace" but scenes such as "displacement" and "ieslights" reproduce the same behaviour I see on a fresh scene.

I think I have narrowed it down to viewport smooth preview i.e. hitting the "3" button on the keyboard.

Its fully functional until that point.

Am I being daft and just not able to create soft shadows, or is it something that doesn't work yet?

Just so I don't spend the next few hours tearing my hair out :-)

I just replaced the old files with the new content.  So I just left everything as it is except replaced the old 2014 folder with the new one from the 0.27.zip.

Hey Haggi,

I'm getting crashes at render time with 0.27.  If I revert back to 0.26 I have no issues at all.  Its throwing memory exceptions as soon as I hit the render button.

This is the same with a previous scene and a brand new scene, setting up objects, lights and materials from scratch!

Cheers

Heeeeeeey

So I'm finally back in business :-)

I had a duplicate mll from somewhere that was conflicting in my plugins.  Did a fresh install on top of that and hey presto.

I've only tested a couple of things with it so far.

Hey Haggi,

I'm afraid I'm still having no joy.  As soon as I hit render Maya still crashes.  I wondered if removing my prefs would help, but even with brand new prefs its a no go.

I get syntax errors and things popping up on some menus as well, for example in 'window->rendering editors->corona' I just get // Error: Line 0.92: Syntax error //

I'll keep trying though.

Cheers

Hey Guys

Cheers.  Yep, I had to go through our internal tech to get to the subscription service part of autodesk.  I'm now running Extension for Maya 2014 SP1.

I had high hopes, but unfortunately, still no joy.  It just crashes out as soon as I hit render.

Strangely, in my plug-in manager Corona isn't flagged as loaded, but when I try and load it, I get the error that it's already loaded.  Sure enough I have the option in my renderer list, but as I say, it just kills the maya session.

So frustrating.  V2.4 was never an issue though with this problem

Thanks for the help so far.

Service Pack 1 doesn't seem to help either.

Just to double check.  To update from v2.4 to v2.5 all I need to do is replace the old directory with the new one?  As long as the .env file still points to the same location, it should be fine right?
