Hello everyone,

So I had this odd idea today, why are there no discord channel or at least chat channel for 3D / art production software?

I remember back in the 90s where using mIRC to join channels to discuss whatever topic you could imagine was totally normal.  In the gaming world today this is also totally normal, using discord to gather groups of people in regions, games, topics, etc.

anyway I am curious if anyone else would even be slightly interested in this?  Like it could be an official channel that can be moderated or it could be a community channel too, but sometimes it would be amazing to just pop in and drop a question or a problem and have this epically talented group of people at your finger tips :)

Anyway, just a thought.

I remember being in mirc channels too back in the days! If such a thing were to start, it would have to be unofficial, there simply wouldn't be the time for us to run a moderated one. If anyone starts one up, post the details here, I will try to drop by now and then!

I've set up a Corona Discord channel here:

https://discord.gg/HAQmed9

Hopefully enough people will join that it could be a useful source of info and help

Hopefully it will gain some traction, it is indeed quite quiet at the moment!

Well i guess the corona render community in other platform like discord is not their proirity as of now. Having multiple areas to moderate is a bit cumbersome.

If you mean why do we not monitor / take part in the Discord, that is the reason. If that started to happen, people would start to view it as an official means to contact us, which would mean we would have to add it to email, forum posts, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as things we have to regularly check, and that would stretch things a little thin to add more to that! I remember mentioning that to the founder of the Discord channel back when it was created, that I would join but would likely never take part due to the fact there are already many official channels and everyone has access to at least one of them.
