Hey guys!
Been a while. Here goes my entry for the Automotive CGI group contest. I have never done a diorama before, so I really enjoyed creating something less realistic than what I do usually.
Enjoy

It's been a while since I posted anything.
This was my attempt at forced creativity in order to evade depression due to mandatory quarantines.
Luckily Duron Automotive released his free HDRI pack just the day after ( perfect timing )

I've always loved scenes with smoke implemented. Therefore I got to play a few hours with Phoenix FD. It was a major failure from my part, so I ended up using a single smoke I managed to render out somewhat properly and postprocess the living day out of it. You will see the same 5x1 smoke everywhere.
Obviously had to spread the smoke with something, so hey...drones.

Vehicle is a C63 AMG Mercedes

Hello everyone

Been a while since I rendered anything automotive. Or... in Corona.
This was my entry for this month's Automotive CGI group competition

We kept it realistic, so we used no HDRI, but lights and blockers.

Hello everyone,
Here's the latest set I shot and rendered.

I took the plates and dome at around 4-5AM in my city. I almost got arrested/fined 3 times (yuck) trying to get on top of that bridge and somehow capturing a better angle. Obviously 3 police cars had to pass by and start asking questions.

The plates were shot on a 80D Canon paired with a 8mm Rokinon, 18-55mm kit and a 50mm 1.8 prime.

Comments are welcome.

Hello everyone,

I had the pleasure of shooting some domes and backplates the last few months.
I am fascinated with photography and CG, and it makes these images more unique for me, since I have a long adventure getting to these locations, or at least most of these locations that I am shooting now.
It went from pasted in cars, to actual stories, at least for me.

I used a Canon 80D with a 8mm Rokinon for the domes, a 50mm1.8 and a kit 18-55mm
Most of the plates were shot at sunrise during the summer, in Romania.

I got a small breakdown for the composition and some location shots aswell. Just so I don't upload 20 images, you can find it on my Behance : https://www.behance.net/robertbodis

Hi,

I bumped into some issues.
My scene setup is pretty basic. Vehicle with double sided windshields (shell) , HDRI for the lighting and a Backplate.

Now, when I look through my windshield, I see the HDRI and not the actual backplate.
In order for that to show up, I have to check in  " Thin", but if I do so, I lose the nice glass effect from my windshields.

Is there any way to get proper refraction on my widnshields without checking in " Thin " ?

Note;
-I already tried to plug in the backplate into the Enviro Refr slot in the Windshield material(s). (this ended up causing refracted bits of my backplate on unrealistic spots)
-Already tried having normal glass on the outside of the shell, and thin one on the inside. (...nope)
-Tried all 3 projection modes in the shadowcatcher.

What occured to me is basically adding a plane behind my vehicle with the shadowcatcher material, but this might slow down my render, cause shadows (if they cannot be turned off in the object properties) so on, so on.

I'd greatly appreciate if someone has some intel on this. Not sure if it's a bug or not.
Thank you!

Robert,

Hey fellas!

Last night I got some free time, decided to update my portfolio a bit. I never really did interiors, especially car interiors.
Ran through my models , ended up with the i8.

See you soon !

Hey guys!
I`ve been using Corona since v0.7. Actually I`m doing CGI pretty much since.

My two latest renders, please go hard on the critics, I want to learn.

Hope you guys like it, and feel free to ask any questions too, I`m happy to help with the knowledge I have.

Work in Progress/Tests / Corona Automotive Animation
« on: 2015-10-27, 23:48:34 »
Hey guys its Robert from Owlempires.com

I was messing around with Corona and decided to give animations a try.
I ended up rendering at 1280px at low passes being just a test, 150 frames took around 7 hours or so.

Now the bad part, since I used 3D grass patches, I ended up with almost 150 million polygons in the scene, so I assume that is where all the render time went.
Also, in order to get some sort of background movement, I decided to add the HDRI into a huge plane that is behind the scene.

I also tried to make the original HDRI rotate, so I don`t have to add another plane to illustrate the background, but anything I did it kept going in a "easy-in - easy-out" fashion rather than linear.
After looking for it in the chart,or whatever is it called , for hours. I decided to just...go with the plane.

Feel free to share what do you think about it.
More to come,obviously!

Hello guys!
I just got Corona 2 days ago,and so far this is my first render I made,
I would love to get a honest and critic feedback, what makes it look unreal ?(reflection, materials etc) I`d really want to improve
Also some how-to`s would be awesome

Thanks a lot!
Robert
