Got to echo what other are saying here... I don't need a 3DS license and the other add-ons (Phoenix, Player, Scans) don't bring much value to C4D users. Most of the studios I work with are using Redshift and the floating licensing and grandfathered in render nodes were the only thing keeping me going with Corona for projects I can choose my renderer. I've been an advocate for Corona, but it may be time to say goodbye and move onto Redshift for all my projects.

Thanks Chaos!

[C4D] Feature Requests / Re: C4D Opacity Tag
« on: 2022-08-02, 16:08:22 »
This is super helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Hey guys, I've just bumped into this thread and think I can contribute with a simple solution:

1 - In the material, go to the opacity channel and add a Display Color Shader (Surfaces > Display Color).
2 - Then select the object with the material applied, and on the attributes manager, on the basic tab, change the display color to "Custom".
3 - A color picker will appear, this is the property you want to change/animate to control the transparency, just like a black and white mask.

There you go, you can now change and animate the transparency on a "per-object" basis, instead of having to composite afterwards or animate the opacity color of the material itself.

You still have to do this process with every material that you want to be affected (good reminder if you have an object with multiple materials) and you'll loose the material preview in the unrendered viewport (It will be only objects turning from black to white), but it works like a charm.

Here's a project I did using this technique:

Hi there, you can set a desired size in the Corona preferences settings. I hope that helps.

Well, I must admit that coming to this forum and reading through things has helped me discover some hidden gems. I always changed resolution for IPR in the render settings, I didn't know that you can limit it to a certain resolution. Thank you for this.
Me too!

Image Upscaling Factor was set to 2. I did not change this. Setting it to 1 solves the issue.

Thank you!

6
That helps. Still seems like there is something going on as setting the IR Max Rez on R25 and R26 yields different results. The R26 is still like 2x the scale.

7
For some reason the IPR window on Corona v9 in C4D R26 is like 3x the scale of the output settings with no option to down scale the image. Render to Picture viewer with Corona VFB is the correct scale. Corona v9 in R25 is fine. Corona v9 on R26 on macOS is fine. Not sure what is going on.

Jobs / Experienced C4D + Corona Archviz Artist Needed
« on: 2022-04-04, 15:10:26 »
I'm in need of an experienced C4D + Corona Archviz Artist to work on some slightly stylized PBR renders for broadcast. Typical job would be 1-2 exteriors + 4-5 interior residential spaces. You'd be working from reference after photographs of finished/decorated spaces. 3D renders need to match angle of a before photograph. First round would start in late May/June and continue through December. PM me with portfolio examples + rates.

Thanks!

[C4D] Daily Builds / Re: Yay! C4D Material Library
« on: 2021-05-20, 19:26:20 »
Not seeing the Material Library Installer in the Mac version. It's in the dropdown menu, but the installer does not have the package for the materials or an option to install in Custom.

Never mind, it is a separate download and install.

Hello,

we are working on a v6 hotfix 2 that we want to release soon. It should contain both S24 and Big Sur support. (We are in the testing stage)

Thanks for your patience,
Jan

Thank you!

11
Other than that, as other users stated, Big Sur is not supported in V6 HF1. I would recommend installing a V7 daily build and trying again. You can find more info on those in the Daily Builds topic on the forums.

Thanks,
Jan

Hey Jan, since we will need an update to V6 for S24 compatibility, is it possible to port back the Big Sur compatibility updates in v7 to v6? I'd like to stay on par with render farms, but need to use Big Sur for access to other renderers. If not will it be Fall before we see a v7 stable release?

12
Not sure about R19, but the v7 daily build works in R21 and R23 on macOS 11. You might want to try that.

13
I can confirm Corona v.6 Hotfix 1 crashes on C4D R23 on macOS 11.2.3. The 7.0 daily 2/17/21 does not crash. Would be great to get whatever Big Sur compatibility was fixed in v.7 rolled into v.6 stabile so that we can stay compatible with render farms until the v.7 RC comes out.

14
I had v.6 Hotfix 1 running on R23 on my Intel iMac Pro on macOS 11 Big Sur (just briefly for some testing, I have not put it through it's paces yet.) On the same machine/OS v6 would crash C4D on load in R21. I just did a test install on a new M1 MacBook Pro and Corona v6 does not show up at all. I'm happy to try out any betas for M1 and/or Big Sur.

Never mind. I was waiting on a render and should have been looking in the IR.
