[C4D] General Discussion / VFB refresh
« on: 2023-10-25, 12:03:01 »
Hello to all, I noticed on some scene that if I click onto an object on the object manager, Corona refreshes the VFB. This happen when I click into a tag, object name, material icon without make a real action.
On some scene it doesn't happens...and I can click everywhere without see the VFB refreshing...

It is there a special situation that Corona doesn't refresh the VFB?

sure Benjamin, here attached you can find a simple scene.

1) start the IR
2) go to Composting Tag settings
3) toggle "cast shadows"

You will be able your self that lights stop to emit...
I remember that works fine with previously corona render...

OS: Sonoma
C4D: latest release
Corona: latest release

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Tag composting issue?
« on: 2023-10-17, 08:28:06 »
Usually when I create an interiors rendering I put a simple panel outside the scene with Light Material. To avoid to make shadows into the room I put a compositing Tag onto it but, see what happens on Corona 10 instead of Corona 9 where the functionality works fine...

EDIT: I noticed that if I uncheck "emit light" into the light material the shadow are deactivated without using the TAG...some behaviour are chanced I think...🧐

thanks...

thanks for for your time!

mmm...interesing...I didn't try to copy and paste the scene in a new one...I do many time when something goes wrong but not now...
I created the scene on C4D 2023 and today morning I upgraded to 2024 and corona 10...but I created only the models without rendering or Corona...so It's very strange...
thanks
Alex

just now, the quality is better than UHD standard...some little splotch on the corner but is good on the surface...

38
The UHD is very suitable for interiors rendering instead of PT. I think is the UHD splotch as well...the strange behaviour is the low quality on reflections surfaces...
:)

39
oh no...don't say into the forum...😂

anyway, here the link for the scene:

Sure..I can share the scene too... (give me a little bit) if you have the scene opened, could you try to copy the same panel for the curtain and put it a little bit far from the previous one? 5 cm of distance between...
Alex 💪🏻

about your questions: it happens on IR and final render too, but into the final render the splotches are more little...denoise is turned off...

EDIT: did you tried to zoom into the image? try to zoom near the divider of the windows and see the differences, you can notify a bad quality on the mirror...here is not a problem but try to duplicate the curtain...

Hello to all,

recently updated Cinema4D to 2024 and Corona 10 latest release.
Today I'm starting a new project for a client of mine, and I noticed a strange behaviour of the curtain (with translucency turned on) and the mirror...as you can see there are many splotch on the reflected one...the curtain has two surface due to a roll curtain shape...so I have two surfaces with the same material.
The problem is gone if I turn off one of them...
Ideas?

[C4D] I need help! / Re: Edge Trimming strange behaviour
« on: 2023-10-06, 09:50:33 »
so..do you think that the branches pivot of the object shown in my render are inside of the scatter area? and not outside? maybe this is the reason...however I understand that the object is not suitable for edge trimming due to its extension...
Thanks anyway for make me understanding how it works...;)

It's important to understand that edge trimming is operating not on triangles level, but on mesh element level (mesh element is continuous group of polygons that are connected to each other by edges). It projects a ray from selection center of each mesh element towards distribution object, if the ray hits surface that is designated as trimming area, whole element gets culled, if it does not hit trimming area, the element gets rendered. Certain types of foliage, like bushes, doesn't work well with edge trimming, since they have long horizontal branches that are populated with small leaves. There's not much you can do about this, except... if you have lots of free time, you could break long branches into smaller chunks, so they could be better handled by edge trimming.

Please could you make the whole Corona Render help manual? 😄 when a picture says more than other things...

however I found that I'm wrong in a point. On my first message Yes, the branches disappears but are disappeared into whole object and not only on trimmed area...so is useless to put the opacity level to 0%...sorry..

Anyway I would like to know how to trim branches but I think there are limitation based on where the object is placed...:)

mmm I don't understand how does it works and the manual doesn't help unfortunately...

Anyway...I'm try to understand why its needs a black color inside...I thought only edge trimming shader loaded into the opacity slot but a 0% of level of opacity was needed in order to works...🧐.
Why the black color shader is needed? you don't need only the edge trimming shader?

EDIT: maybe the problem is the kind of object? on leaf the edge trimming works as expected but on long brunches it doesn't works...to long extension of the brunch?

Try the scene attached...I have put edge trimming on all mats but the brunches still there...
