Thanks for the update, and fixing an issue like this with a hotfix for the current main build is really appreciated.

We've been getting something like this too - random black rectangles, but it's specifically only in the alpha channel of the rendered file (in our case EXRs), not the actual diffuse/beauty etc.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing as OP, but I can't check if there are NAN errors as this was on a bunch of frames rendered via Pulze RM. All I can say is that in a sequence of 500 frames there were 5 x "broken" EXRs with a rectangular (varying!) sized hole in the alpha, usually somewhere along the bottom right (but not always). When re-rendering them they were fine. This was across multiple machines, nothing machine-specific.

I can't send over any files due to NDA, sorry.

Thanks. Will test further.

Devs - is it possible to have the Converter operate so that the Max Bitmap > Corona Bitmap button only affects the selected object or slot? Right now I don't believe it respects that radio button choice on the bottom left and just does the entire scene.

Great news! This will be a good advantage.

Any news on having CoronaPattern work on top of CoronaDisplacement?

CXR is indeed basically unstably enormous, unfortunately. We only ever use it when absolutely necessary, which is a shame because it brings some great benefits of flexibility. But storage including backup costs is not trivial, and the difference is indeed huge.

Just to add that we've found the same pink issue with corona clouds.

When updating Corona versions it really should respect the previous system settings, or at least give you the option to Retain or do a "Clean" install. This is one such setting that we always forget to put back to 1.0, as one example.

And at any rate, Corona should really be defaulting IR scaling to 1.0 and not 2.0 anyway. Anything that results in lower quality (blurry IR) surely should never be the default. Give users the option to increase this to 2.0 or whatever they want if they have slow IR with their system. But we have requested this many times over the years so... :)

Thanks for the updates, folks! Hopefully this makes it into Corona soon then as default, with any issues ironed out.

Good to hear everyone's thoughts!

Anything from the devs? Would be great to hear from you guys as to why it's not the default yet.

Hi devs, struggled to find news on this but what's the latest on the 4k Cache? Is it still undergoing development? Is it recommended for use in any particular scenarios over standard UHD Cache?

Cheers,

+1. The effect can be super but at a real cost to render-times, especially when it's strong.

maybe this is what you need

Hello.

Is the way to convert a physical camera to corona camera to add a CoronaCameraMod? Or is there a script?

Also I have over 80 cameras in a scene. Is there a script to add the CoronaCameraMod to all of them automatically?

Thanks

Just bought this, installed it and tried to run it, but when the script launches it immediately closed max (2024) as it was detected as malicious software (by Autodesk I think). Have you/anyone else come across this?

14
Thanks both! Will check these out.

Resurrecting this old thread from the depths....

Any chance of a corona powertool or something to mass convert max physical cameras > corona cameras? Or maybe as part of the Corona Converter?

It's fine if it's not 1:1 the same - just the critical stuff like cam+target position, shift/tilt, FOV etc. and maybe any other data it's able to pull like aperture etc.

Cheers,
