Available to upgrade in Blender settings now or a fresh install from https://bitbucket.org/coronablender/render_corona/overview

This is a test version to get it back to working with the latest daily builds on both Windows and MacOS

There is still an issue with textures on MacOS not working and I have a scene crashing Windows and MacOS for now but that is likely my fault.

thanks for coming back!:D currently I'm bussy with commercial project so I cannot check it, but in several days should try!:)

Can you in future version change the distance of volume scatter in envirroment tab to something more than 1km? currently is the highest distance available from the blender settings. it is possible to change it in conf. files but everytime costs a lot of time.

Looking forward to trying this tomorrow. I also have a SketchUp Model I was trying to get working as an import but it won't render (only works in Cycles), so it could be messy geometry. I'll see if it works in the new version.

By the way blanchg, I also run a dual boot iMac 2017, so I can test both environments. Let me know if there's anything specific you want me to help test as well.

What of?
If an engine, Mac version is available only as Corona For C4D (public beta or dailies) and with it Stand Alone.
Bridge/addon for Blender is an archive.

how do you install standalone 1.7?  Do you download the latest 3dsmax daily, and just choose to install the standalone?

Yes, that will require a licensed after the demo period expires.

... or read the thread again, use that which is bundled with C4D beta.

Coming soon to standalone: triplanar mapping node

That's nice! Cant wait. Do you consider to add also a multitexture node? It can really make participles in blender looks more realistic:)

Cool, well its working for me, havent had any issues with the export, but I do have a issue with using textures.
I get a "Fatal error in mtl-XML file: Scene.mtl: Texture with file name: C:/blabla/texture.jpg not found/not accessible"

Im guessing this is the texture bug you mentioned in another post?
Im on PC.

@burnin - that's what I thought. That makes sense. Blanchg kept referring to a Mac version, so I was making sure I wasn't missing something.

Here are the issues I've found so far:

1) Texture error (same as Binke mentioned above)
2) Cannot save VFB images in the standalone to do any A/B comparisons - every time you render it disappears...Any way to get that going?
3) Files I'm importing from Sketchup into Blender for a final render seem to just not work even after I completely retexture. I'm guessing this is because of loose or bad geometry, because it just renders nothing. Is there any way in the future to improve this or maybe integrate better with the Standalone so that this does not happen? It seems to break easily on any model that uses windows or complex geometry...or maybe it's just me. It's possible I'm doing something wrong.
4) Lightmix changes don't seem to affect the lights in the scene.

1) Waiting for next standalone to fix
2) Will look into this
3) can you provide a simple scene that doesn't export correctly and I will see what can be done
4) Is this lightmix when inside the VFB or from the exporter?

Thanks Blanchg

On #3 - can you PM me an email address to send it to? I'd rather do it that way.

#4 - the lightmix is inside the VFB. When I play with lights they don't seem to change. I will try to add some more and test, but just wanted to let you know. If it's working for you then I must be doing something wrong :)

Hi,
the map is already available instandalone - I am not sure there is corresponding blender node for it yet though:

Was it called "Select" previously?  Either that or I am going crazy and added a node that was very similar 😜

There is an issue in the standalone where the Sun has no effect.

But for each object you can tick the lightmix box on the material tab and give each light a name (or the same name to group them).  Only has an effect for emissive materials.

I just did a test and those lights show up and they can be controlled.

The output will be in the <export directory>\render\<scene name>lightmix.png

You can pull that back into Blender for compositing or the individual light renders too for some post render light mixing.

Awesome! I've been away for a week and now that I'm back with my files I'll check out the new version too :) Thanks!

@blanchg - just signed up for Patreon.

@Ondra, I think this plugin needs more support to get the word out. Lots of people just don't know about it. Maybe Corona could be added to the website? The more support blanchg gets, the more he can release great updates for the Blender community :)

Should also consider Blender Market or similar sites.

v8.0.10 includes a way to render with textures.  Material preview still doesn't work.

^ Add Corona Compositing tag to the Object of choice, then in Tag options uncheck Cast shadows. (for c4d)

EDIT!
oooh... my bad, this is Blender section - i don't see such an option under Corona Object Properties (would be nice to have)

so i assume the above post (from andreimd87) was achieved by use of Corona RaySwitch node.
e.g.

I'm thinking to move to Blender and OH MY GOD, I'm a Corona's fan and I can't wait to see if Corona for Blender  works so well like with my 3DSMAX2018.

I don't think that cycles can compete against Corona, which I think it's the best for some many reasons (the non  needing of graphic card for instance, the main reason).

Cycles runs on GPU and CPU, with dailies it runs using both at the same time. Even had OSL support way before Max. So your argument really holds no water... and latest advancements are on memory consumption which Corona is not that good at (yet have to check/test/study v2).
Corona's main advantage, using it with Blender, is its GI/UHD cache (most prominent with interiors) and click-click tone mapping + post FX with CFB. Ease of use = less stress, pleasant time working, faster production

Any chance to add Nvidia denoiser into render settings? Or Standalone doesnt support this? Currently I'm testing Corona3.0 and it works with latest exporter.

Also support for an animated textures should be great! I'would like to make an animation with water simulation and Dynamic paint of wet color can be baked into animated texture and as I saw, Corrona supports animated textures:)

I will need to find the setting if standalone supports it.
