What about Rhinoceros?
This powerfull modeler with all it's plugins ( Grasshopper ),
also it's very cheap, for me it is affordable combo rhino + corona
-
For product designers this would be fantastic, my early testing of Corona has been very impressive and the speed efficiency for design changes and output (where time is money) is fantastic .
Not to have to export sat files to max all the time would be a dream!!
I definitely vote for this and with real time preview implemented...the killer product!
-
planned ;)
-
Legend, made my day :)

hi keymaster, the more I look into the galllery the more impressed I am; do you think a crowdfund project to port it to rhino could be put in place? when you say planned..is that 3, 6 months ..1year?
-
guys, i guess you are very ocupied finishing official release, but 1 or 2 lines pointing some clues about timing for the port won't hurt..
-
hi,
we already have plans, but I cannot disclose them yet.
-
ok thanks for your answer, I understand your position.
but then..when do you plan to release plans ;))
-
Q1 2015

Learn C++/python instead and make the exporter yourself :D
-
Despite the very quiet nature of this thread, the anticipation is still awful...
Any progress?
-
none, sorry. We will announce if/when we start developing the plugin, do not worry
-
Any news ?
:)
-
none, sorry :/
-
PLANNED for Q1 2015 :( I believe it's 2017 already, but cannot find a link for Corona for Rhino :( Would you be so kind and send me a link so I can test it out?
-
Now seriously: Ondro, How many requests are needed so you start with Corona for Rhino?
-
sorry, no plans to start at the moment...
-
I don't consider "NO" as an answer, so let's not give up guys.
-
Nearly a year later, still no development I assume. Not that I'm a Rhino user, but I know many who are. Think your business would get a very good bump if you developed for it quite honestly.
-
Any news?
-
Corona for Rhinoceros would be a beautiful thing. +1
-
There are lots of people who would love to get it, including myself!!

Yes!
Any posibility to have Corona for Rhinoceros this year?
-
sorry, no plans to start at the moment...
start at the moment...
moment...
If there are no plans, then put out a statement that there actually is no intention to look into it.
Logic being: If there is indeed enough interest in the rhino community someone might develop a script to export to corona standalone. If it's left half communicated, it crushes the chance that someone might actually try this daunting task, because maybe the actual devs will do it.
You made the great post explaining why there won't be a blender integration (https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=792.msg6096#msg6096), same for rhino would bring clarity.
-
The thing is there is never "no intention" - there's only "no intention at the moment". We don't have a crystal ball to know how things will go in the future (user interest, finding good developers who want to do this as a project). So we can't say "never an intention". If we say "no intention at the moment" then that would mean it would be at least 2 or 3 months before work could start (assuming the perfect situation of a developer contacts us, wants to join, passes the interview, wants to work on this as a project, joins the company, gets up to speed), and then another 2 or 3 months before something was usable even in early form.
So if a third party developer wants to create an exporter, they know they have quite a large window in which to work if we've said "no intention at the moment". However we just can't say "never" because then if things change and we do decide to work on it, people would complain - and since we really don't mean "never" but just "not at the moment for sure" then we have to be honest and say that :)

Ok, Thank you!

Any programmer who wants to work with Corona and Rhino?
Pleaseeee!! (hehe)
-
Me personally, I model stuff in Rhino, since I'm an industrial designer.
Buildings, Furniture and such things which go much faster than in C4D or Max.
But building up scenes, I find much nicer in C4D... There you have stuff like Mograph, etc...
-
I use Rhino a lot for architecture, it's fast...... my workflow, rhino is 90%, and 3ds Max 10% for model special things.
3ds Max for second part with Corona and finish the project.
-
Yup, me too.
I'd LOVE to see Corona for Rhino, but my fear is that it'll end up in a similar unfortunate situation to Vray for Rhino. That is; powerful software, almost exactly same features as in the 3DSmax version, but with almost no community... ie; no models to download and use, not many discussions, not many plug-ins, limited support etc (although, admittedly, with the plug-ins, Grasshopper is a pretty good one-stop-shop.)
These issues are the precise reason why I moved from a Rhino+Vray only workflow to Rhino-3DSmax-Corona workflow.

The same happened to me.
It is possible that the best combination for me is Rhino + Max + Corona and not change it. It is true.

I am an architect and visualizer and model EVERYTHING in Rhino. Even when working in a project in Revit or Archicad I prefer to do the renders in Rhino with V-Ray.
To my knowledge, if you want to do serious render work in Rhino, V-Ray is currently one of (if not the only) serious player in the market. I would jump in an instant if Corona released a Rhino version.

Nowadays I find much easier to bring stuff to Rhino from other DCCs. V-Ray Proxy allows to bring animated .abc files, allowing for example to import an animated curtain created in Marvelous Designer. And with V7 coming up, it will become a lot easier to model a lot of things inside Rhino.

planned ;)
I'd be a customer...
-
Hello! A long time has passed. All the same, you are planning to make Corona Renderer for Rhino? ) I would very much like to work together Rhino+Corona
-
There are no plans to convert Corona to any other host application other than the two we currently support, sorry.
