Work in Progress/Tests / gently worn exterior latex paint
« on: 2017-07-22, 04:09:05 »
Im going for exterior latex paint on composite (non-wood/non-rot) board and batten, semi-gloss, slightly worn material, so no wood grain.  New construction so not trying to age the material to harsh.

Used Sigers for the metal roofing.

Comment critique please welcome on this and overall other.

Thanks in advance!

(Original Serenbe Farms House, GA, USA as inspiration) personal project

Added more detail camera thank you for looking.  maybe Its better : ( ?

dots,

add volume in the room by - maybe trade skylight for a window on the long wall-make part of the storage above island see through ( metal shelves suspend from ceiling, etc) Someone on other side of work zone will not see you you can't see them.

Other: Lower the seating eating area of the bar top down to 77cm ( table height) for std chairs look online.

Do some before/after one day along with shaded renders.  thx for posting your work

Im not a arhviz expert but i design/build homes for a living.  Seeing the render I would consider changing to an L shaped kitchen with the cooktop on the peninsula.  Maybe try to get some overhang to pull bar stools up.  Island if must have, use a 24'x42"+- work surface island - maybe steel or see through style to reduce the crowded effect currently i see.

My opinion only.  I don't know the breakfast area dimension so i assume you would have 8x10 min left over for that.

Changes are free at this point so your smart about what your doing.

Good luck,
P

What happen to support bar at top of glass rail.. I have customer who hates this chair height view blocking- take off and risk snapping the glass off ?  No practical solution found yet for me as a builder.

Good Jens, does an artist clip or change focal length (and stay inside real world walls) in exchange for some distortion.  I think style choice plus the client wants a full view of the product.   Juraj can you comment please.  Composition may be the most quietly difficult challenge with Archviz we have unlimited choices.

Maru, i used some Camera Raw filter thats it, & would do more if you see some way to save some image.  I struggle to get crisp images, not hazy, so my thought was always add contrast or other in post - not very good solution.

Overall should i be putting more light (ambient) into my work, or increase exposures? or combo?

OR is material quality the biggest issue, secondarily model work?  Maybe like you say ALL of the above.

So if you me, where focus first in quest to get better.?

Thanks again for the reply.  Does anyone see any other constructive coaching?

Some scene shots of a fun personal proj. design by INT2 only 724sqft apartment with some unusual stuff in it (just for learning) - per original design.  Am new to 3d if you can give some CC tips or whatever you can comment on to get me some more realism.

Max+1.5+PS;  Models = self + 3dsky (primarily)

Im working to be able to create our own interior/exterior merchandising/VIZ free from our current photography constraints.  We are residential home builders.  So what i want to VIZ is new construction (NOT lived in/used) so work hould be clean & show limited wear.  Sort of "Boundary-ish" style.   But i need to pump in more realism & improve skills.  Thanks for looking.

Great to see USA represented and new colonial style. I appreciate how much modeling went into all the siding and cornice.

Juraj, can we go back to topic from a few pages ago for quickie question as relates to EXPOSURE:  Your opinion, best practice workflow in Corona Frame Buffer is to set exposure and leave compression&contrast to 1.00?  (linear) which results maybe on darker side (scene specific+-) of final finished product exposure - because trying to avoid burnout.

THEN bring back up exposure in VFB+ &/or post to taste?.

DO you know if MSI consideration based on base exposure (not revised with highlight compressing)?

Thanks Juraj

Nice.  If me, i would delete 1 set of tables per side to give clearance behind chairs (60cm+) in pulled out position (to avoid claustrophobia maybe).

Did you help the architect communicate the plan?  What did the client say?

Thanks

Your right, something else going on-.   I will keep all default, & 8bit classic and keep testing.

Thanks for suggestion Juraj.  Anything else critical maybe suspicious to you lmk.

thx

Also thanks Juraj, your a great role model in the business.  I like how you can give the background/theory behind practical solutions, not asking to just "take your word for it".

I used Maru settings for PS and I like it.  BUT... From PS to client is a different story.  Open with Windows Photo viewer is not a good idea.  Photo viewer is not nice to renders as you all probably realize, much detail is lost, no shadows quality, etc.

Any solutions/standard practice you follow for client presentations or everyday viewing of images at your own workstations?

Attached screenshot right image is an example of my problem.  Its worse with interiors/darker exposures.

Im saving from PS as 16bit JPEG, max quality.

thx
