Hi!
What is the best way to fix problem with opening 3dsmax scene archive with Cosmos assets on new computer. If I didnt downloaded exactly these assets on new computers drive before, then I will not have these assets opened with imported scene.
Sometimes it works (scene on new computer opens with all cosmos assets, but not always)

@Maru, thanks for answer!

Yes I use LightMix all the time, so its is not this but I will try options that you suggested, espetially Rayswitch material which seems to be very promising.

Luckyly I didnt have that big noice problem with other rooms.

Hi,
I`m making interior scenes in day and night version. In night version light sources are very small and I have huge problem with light dots on walls even after long rendering (Ryzen 5950x+3900x)...
Denoiser cant help much in this level of noise.
Do you have some good tips and tricks to manage it?
I will be thankful.

[Max] I need help! / Re: CoronaDECAL masked by Vertex Paint
« on: 2022-05-20, 11:33:28 »
Thanks Romullus!

Viewport Canvas is solution for me (instead of VertexPaint).
I can draw mask for Decal directly on 3d model. It works! Decal size should be the same as plane below to fit bitmap size.
I use Decals in this case because its very easy to manage displacements while making complex terrain models.
File in attachement. (the only thing is that IR is not working while I`m painting but its not big problem:) )

Thanks again!!

Hi!

Is it possible to somehow mask CoronaDecal by VertexPaint ?
I just would like to paint this Decal mask in 3dsmax instead of using ready bitmaps:)
(for example dusty road or path line on grassy field)

Hi,

I needed this 28K resolution to make artprint for wallpaper.

[Max] Feature Requests / Volume Displacement
« on: 2022-04-14, 14:47:02 »
Hi!

It would be amazing to have volume displacement option in Corona.

It is in VRay and Arnold.
Here is amazing tutorial with this function in Arnold:
https://www.autodesk.in/campaigns/arnold/article-under-the-hood

Corona Volume material dont have this option..or I dont know everything..
I can use for example noise map for volume but its not the same...

Thank you guys!

I did test in Topaz.
I will make 10-15K picture and convert it to 29K in Topaz. I think quality will be sufficient.

Thanks again for all advices!

Yes:)

Interesting fact about colours in these kind of images:
"Color is a property of light (i.e., photons), and since electron microscopes use an electron (color neutral) beam to image a specimen, there's no color information recorded. The area where electrons pass through the specimen appears white, and the area where electrons don't pass through appears black."
Beautiful colours in such images are added later in colouring postproduction process to make it more realistic or increase understanding of content for example:)

On YT there is very interesting tutorial about colouring electron microscope images:

I made some test renders inspired by electron microscope technology images.

I found semi-solution but works good!
I can make two renders - first with white background and second with shadow catcher and use shadow catcher  render in Photoshop as mask for white background render.

Best regards!
Szymon
