Title: Corona Legacy Materials..........
Post by: Philip kelly on 2021-01-27, 10:40:33
Good morning.
I am not keeping up to date  with the new developments in corona.
The new Material types...............
The old "Corona material" is gone I take it a dn  it has been replaced with.........?
Is there tutorial on what the new material types are, and when you should use them, for the Arch viz business side of things.
Thank you for the help.

Phil

Hi Philip, you mean the new Corona Physical Material, right? This is only available in the daily builds, and please note they are intended mainly for testing / experimenting.
The old material is now called Corona Legacy Material and is also included in these new versions.

You can learn more about the new material here:
https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=31802

Once we will be closer to the final version of the Physical Material and Corona V7 release, we will definitely publish more tutorials / guides / examples / FAQ. :)

Thank you very much for the reply.
My apologies for the delay in getting back to you .
I use the daily builds, so that makes sense.
Thank you very much for all the hard work you put in to making this a great product.

No problem at all, and I understand it's a bit confusing. The new material is a big thing!

The new material is a big thing!

The new Corona Physical Material looks like a big change from the Offline Render Shaders seen up to now (at least to me).
To better understand how it works, beyond how it is used in practice, I wanted to ask you on which technical papers you relied to structure it, or if you will publish one yourself to talk about it.
