Title: Diffuse color and B&W .jpg's
Post by: Noah45 on 2017-09-11, 18:43:44
B&W .jpg's converted to CRN materials require diffuse color to be the actual (black) color. I only noticed because my B&W graphic was entirely white until I changed the diffuse color. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, on one hand it requires and extra step for typical apps, but there is more flexibility to replace black.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean - if I place a black and white JPG (which is still just a JPG) into the Diffuse slot of the Corona Material, it comes out black and white as expected regardless of the color set in the Diffuse for the Corona MTL. Are you doing something differently, perhaps using the JPG in the Opacity slot or similar?

No, opacity slot null. I've never seen this issue, (ps. can make that background any color)

How are the alpha settings in the bitmap loader?

PROH gets the cigar. Thanks, change from 'image alpha' to 'none', but since when does .jpg have alpha?

They don't. But Max can be set to read the RGB values as if it was an alpha channel. I think that's what happened in you case.

Glad it helped :)
