Smoothing CAD models
Hello,
I am currently switching from a MODO to a C4D workflow and have found it mostly painless. I have this issue with faceting on my CAD models that doesn't appear in MODO. I have adjusted the phong angle range high and low on the mesh but I'm unable to get good results. Is this an issue with CAD that I'll have to resolve when converting or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Smoothing CAD models
In most of the cases, you just need to import your model into C4D without the normals, untick the appropriate checkbox at the import dialog. This way C4D will take care of the Normals/Phong tag. Give it a try and let me know the outcome. Cheers.

Re: Smoothing CAD models
Did you try the optimise command? select the model and press U then O. This sometimes is needed to have the model show correctly after a import.
