Hello everyone, this is the first time that happens to me and I have a scene of a bathroom where there is a mirror in front of the other and in one of them there is an infinite repetition of the reflection, can you help me?

Hello renderbox,

this is correct. Since Corona is a physics based engine, as in real life, if you put two mirrors facing each other, this is what happens =)



The "solution" is to change camera angle.

By the way, the number of reflections is controlled with the "Max ray depth" value in Render Setup > Performance. ;)

Hello everyone, thanks for answering, the point was that I had never seen that when two mirrors are facing each other, their reflections have that effect of repetition. I have investigated and it is physically correct, although it is still curious and the client will surely surprise you as well. I think that in the corona material there is no option to eliminate that rebound effect, so there is.

(and although you can reduce the number of reflections, perhaps you should not and show it to the client as it is now, since you mention they might be surprised - it would be as well letting them know that this will be what happens in the real world if they go with this design for the room :) )

Totally agree with TomG. This is not a visualization problem, but a design problem - if it's not intended. So do you client a favor and show the infinite mirror rendering.

it would be very intersting to see the reaction of client when he sees it in real-world.
I saw similar design effect in real-world and it was not a good experience. to see this every day in a house would be devastating

I agree, I don't think anyone would want this in the real world, it would be very distracting - and if you change the reflections in your scene to hide it, the client may just get mad as to why you didn't tell them this would happen once they build it ;)

Personally, I'm amazed that
a) someone can live in the modern world and never have experienced (or noticed) this!? and;
b) that people find this 'distracting'

I love this effect, have always been fascinated by it and see it happen almost daily.
