Hello,
Most of the time, the conversion of the translucency for my trees and grass library does not work well.
I wish I could run a script which can :
1- change the translucency fraction
2- add an output map in the translucency color with an instance of the diffuse map in the output parameters.
3- change the RGB level of the output map

Do you think it is possible to write a script like this?
Thank you for your help,
Pierre

agreed, the translucency fraction amount never converts well - perhaps add this to the thread about the converter script?

could you elaborate how translucency fraction is calculated? rgb level value?
this looks like a pretty simple script overall

I think it was brought up quite few times that Vray2Sided isn't converted ideally but it's some compromise that works. I avoid this part and just do them manually.

I'm completely open for suggestions ;). I coded this part years ago and I can't remember why I did things like I did. If someone comes up with a solution that works on everything I'm more than willing to implement it. I'll also have a look at it again myself soon. Same goes for translucency in the VrayMtl itself - which to me is appears to be impossible to convert to anything useful.
Any sufficiently advanced bug is indistinguishable from a feature.
