Tested in R19.053, using Team Render to Picture Viewer (workstation plus one node, both rendering the same image), and the PV Stop Render button works as expected.

Might be an R18 thing - however, can you confirm if this was a TR render to PV, or if you were using the TR Server to do the rendering?

The question would be, does it actually go up, or did it artificially dip too low?

A small change with it going up might not be unexpected as it gets re-evaluated. However, there does seem to be a bug where it artificially drops too low at one evaluation, then gets re-evaluated correctly - this does show as a significant drop that doesn't match what has been seen in the past evaluations.

You can see the bug report at https://corona-renderer.com/bugs/view.php?id=2811 for more info, and let us know if you are seeing this artificial drop in noise level at some point (that is a drop of 2 or 3% or more, then climbing back up to a more expected level the next time it re-evaluates).

For me the Corona History folder only adds a file when I add it to the VFB History. If I delete the file from the VFB History, it gets deleted from disk. If I close C4D without deleting the VFB history, it does delete them from disk. I think only if C4D crashes then it wouldn't delete them on shutdown - otherwise, they should be deleting automatically already (they are here).

Using the new Create Corona Camera from current view icon, the Corona Cam seems to be created as targeted (it's checked in the properties of the Corona Cam), but the Target does not show up in the Scene Explorer and is not visible in the viewport. Have to uncheck and recheck Targeted in the Corona Cam properties to get it to show up :)

Didn't happen for me here, here are the steps I followed:

- Opened scene as provided (errors on load are attached, I just ignored them)
- Rendered scene as provided for 5 passes only (scene as loaded has sharpen and blur enabled)
- Saved from VFB to EXR and CXR
- Open CXR in CIE, and saved to EXR (image when loaded has sharpen and blur enabled)
- Opened both EXRs in Photoshop, used Image -> Adjustments - Levels and adjusted midtone to 5 (which for me does show the problem with the EXR you attached) - no lines appeared, the results are attached as "WithoutDenoisingEnabled.jpg" screengrabbed from PS.

CIE and Corona were from the March 5th daily build.

I did find that if I enabled Denoising and followed the steps above then I get a "halo" around the objects (also screengrabbed from PS and attached, rendered for 10 passes this time)


PS - I am using Exr-IO to open the EXRs.

I do see the effect in your EXR, however in my quick test scene I did not get this effect (just a cube and a plane). So does look like something else is playing a part - displacement, or the colors, or other post settings, etc....

EDIT - BTW you say it's still happening in the CIE from the latest daily, does that mean it isn't happening when saved direct from the VFB? I haven't tested VFB to CXR to CIE to EXR as yet, just VFB to EXR.

What are the CPUs in the old and the new system (and memory too)? Is it only IR that is slow, and regular renders are as expected? Is this all scenes, or just specific ones?

Today's installer runs normally here for me, Win 10.

In a quick test (interior scene, no render elements so beauty only as not sure what render elements were being used, using Corona DR directly, saving to EXR on render completion from the Max Save File settings, to Half Float 16 bit EXR RGB no alpha, Denoising was used, tested in Corona 1.7.3 and in Corona 2 latest daily, opened using Exr-IO in Photoshop) , have not been able to replicate this - but would need a lot more info about your particular situation.

- What render elements were being used?

- By DR, do you mean Corona DR used directly? (rather than Backburner, or Corona DR submitted through Backburner)

- When saving to EXR, was this from the Max save dialog so that it saved automatically on render completion, or manually saved from the VFB? What settings did you use to save the EXR (bit depth etc)

- How did you open the EXR to inspect it after completion?

- Does this happen if you render locally without using DR (in case it is simply the saving to EXR that is causing the problem, and the DR is not playing a part in this result)

I have no idea how much native C4D might add to memory requirements (I am still pretty sure it is memory that is the issue here). You could remove it and see what impact it has on memory use / render times.

In terms of memory use, another big source of memory requirements is displacement, so that might be worth looking at too if you are aiming to optimize the scene some.

Looks like a bug to me - the Velocity pass should work without Motion Blur being enabled in the render settings (but it is likely that it wouldn't work in IR even then, it doesn't in Max... but in Max it does work without MoBlur being enabled for the Beauty in a full render, which is what would be expected since the idea of the pass is to apply the MoBlur in post :) )

I can confirm the same thing happens to me in a simple test scene.
