[C4D] Bug Reporting / Crash in IR, rendering fine in VP

As the topic says: it renders in VP but crashes with IR in VP.
Scene and bug report uploaded. Since the uploader worked in the afternoon but now failed several times, I used Dropbox.
The file name was grass clean border testing.zip.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Crash with Hair [RESOLVED]

Hair has become pretty unreliable and responsible for crashes lately, as it seems.
I've uploaded a scene that crashes on render while "Preparing geometry". The reason lies within the used hair objects.
It used to render fine with R20 and V4. No idea which of both is to blame.

The scene crashes as soon as I try to render it.

It crashes when the hair is active. No clue yet why.

12 crashes later: It's got something to do with the "Curl" parameter within the Hair object. Nothing real tangible yet, it's weird.

...

Nope, I didn't try all night, but when I touched the scene again, it crashed all over again as soon as I tweak (any) hair parameters. I am really, really curious what's going on.

The "Inside Volume" does not work anymore in V5 Hotfix 1/2.
In V4 Hotfix 1 it was still working. It also worked in the dailies before V5 release (checked it with a V5 daily from Sept. 20 which I had in a C4D installation), I don't have V5 Release (before hotfix 1) installed anywhere anymore to check if the bug came with the first hotfix only.

I got a crash when I changed Material.3's Self Illumination color (it started updating/finally rendering and crashed).

Load the scene.
Start viewport IR.
Switch off or on the linear field (see image)
Restart C4D.

Bonus bug:
User VFB IR instead of viewport IR.
No crashes, but no proper update for the fields effects either.

PS I take the non-crasing back! You just have to be persistent!

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Artifacts with displacement and decals

In this scene, there are artifacts in the displacement when I use the decal (material "la mancha") without an active displacement channel.
I need to put something in the displacement channel (if only a black color and a tiny amount of displacement) and activate it to avoid the artifacts.

So there's a workaround, but it is still a bug, I think.

Sometimes I think that people might be confusing "enable fast caustics solver" with a general switch for caustics (on/off), which it isn't - caustics are always on as soon as they are enabled in a light and material. Would it be possible to add a real on/off switch for caustics and possibly one also for displacement?

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / No IR update with Sweep point edit

Open the scene.
Start IR (viewport, VFB).
A point of the path spline of the Sweep object is already active. Move it along X, as far as you like.
No update in IR.
Let go of the mouse. Still no update.
You need to restart the IR to get an update.

[C4D] I need help! / HDRI offset

Question: When I use several HDRIs, is there a way to give each one an offset with the bitmap shader? I did not find an option there, so I am using the projector so far. And projector is not the most elegant solution, plus it is a little buggy.

You see, when you switch HDRI environments with the select material, you will rarely need them "as is" but always at a certain offset to get a specific lighting situation.

Currently there is a random mix. We have "Color Mix" and "Corona Color Correct". Either remove "corona" from all shader names or add it to every single one. Stay consistent.

You have a bitmap node, it is wired to a dozen other nodes.
You create another bitmap node. You select the former node, call "Replace Node With ..." and select the new node. The wires magically rewire to this node.

A requester asked me to send this scene to the support and I am happy to oblige:
Win 10, C4D R20, Corona latest V5 daily. IR in the viewport.

The NaNny regularly and reliably appears when I dial up the offset in the projector shader.
