Thanks for the Quick update for C4D S26! I like to use Photoshop Image files for my materials to keep things tidy which precludes me from using Corona Bitmap. So the update to ver. 9 allowed me to move forward.

But when selecting the appropriate layer, the thumbnails of each layer do not display. Not a big deal, just forces me to do what I should be doing anyway (properly naming the layers).

It's 3ds Max terminology, it might be that in C4D it's named differently, or it's doesn't implemented yet.

Regarding the back side of the label, you can duplicate the decal object, rotate it by 180 degrees and apply appropriate texture. Technically it's not correct solution, since it would project on inside wall of the bottle, but i think one couldn't tell the difference visually.

I thought so, C4D has front/back under projection which I tried, stacking a blank material for the back. Didn't work and a side note...It causes issues with the Corona IR having to be restarted for each change.

Your solution is really thinking outside the box! Unfortunately that does not work either. I assume because of the need to use the Normal Direction shader in the layered material.

Thanks all. Beanzvision, That works!  Wish I would have thought of it. I already had the layered material made because it's the old method of making a label but I didn't think of throwing it on a Decal to see what happens. Only thing is I can't get it to show blank paper on the back of the decal, which did work with the old method of applying the layered material to selected polygons. Also can you be more specific on what you mean by an empty material?

Don't think it is a bug, just the limit of usefulness at this point. It's not a reflection or a shadow. You cannot encapsulate the outside of curved glass with the decal and and not have it include the inside. The angle of the inside and outside of the glass are too similar and close for the Max Angle Limit to work.  If I could perhaps include/exclude a polygon selection.

Thanks for your speedy response...but max angle limit does not help, or at least not enough, on something such as a glass bottle .

Is it possible to use a Decal on glass with thickness (such as a bottle) without it being seen on the back polygons? Also, is it possible to to have a  back material to the Decal?
It all seems possible with a flat plane of glass but when the glass is curved so much that the Decal depth has to be increased enough to encapsulate the curve it also gets projected onto the back of the glass, and also using 2 different materials for the front and back projection no longer work correctly.
I've fiddled with different projections with the decal materials. Different glass materials. And different lighting. It would be so nice to get this to work instead of going back to the old method of splitting out polygons to make a label.

Thank you Bengamin, Im running Windows 10 v.21h1 C4D R25.117, and Corona V.8 Feb 2, 2022. Although when the issue was  originally posted I was on the previous Corona daily build.

Ha, I was thinking (joking) in the back of my mind, they just need to add a polarizing filter to the Post Render. Perhaps like negative numbers under Bloom and Glare.
And, if they would add swing and tilt to the Corona Camera it would be just like the old days.

I went the other direction...I made my own desk with a nice padded foot rest, a 30" pull out shelf under the top for my wireless keyboard and mouse and wacom. Add a comfortable reclining office chair with adjustable arm rests. I hardly move a muscle, everything is supported. So I get up often and get a drink of water and look at something farther the 24" from my face.

Is there an upgrade path? I just bought the previous version 4.5.

My sincerest apologies, Jan. I had no hostile intentions.

The flaky thing is, I came back to the project yesterday and it did all work fine. I did not close the project and reopen, did not restart C4D or the computer. Just picked up where I left off the day before and now it works as expected. I also noticed the previous day after I posted here that the controls in texture mode were not working with legacy materials either. So it wasn't a physical materials thing. Probably not a Corona thing. I'm blaming Windows.

You know...TEXTURE MODE,maybe I'm calling it the wrong thing! Also Scaling the texture with Coordinates doesn't update in the Corona IR either.

Maybe a little flaky, and maybe not consistently reproducible. Right now I am working in Texture Mode and turning Tiling Off or On has no effect in Corona IR or scaling UVs for that matter. Must be stopped and restarted. I've noticed a few other glitchy things too, but cannot recall them exactly at the moment. I'll try to remember to log them when they occur.
Some might be me, as I am trying to learn how to use the new Physical Materials. Some times crashes C4D, sometimes Crashes my whole Machine. The new little help menus help a lot.
