This is some image for a mattress catalogue, the mattress was modeled in 3dmax by my friend Pablo Ferro  (chek the website https://www.behance.net/PabloFerroDesign  THx man! ) We hope to develop this project a lot further....

Yay! Thanks for the bump mate. Cheers! Yeah! We may be modelling and rendering a few of those in the next months or so. I did a Matrix version of that render since we are both "Architects" lol.

Looks great - and awesome thread title too :)

Thanks. :)

Ok, I'll have a look into it, but I understand it correctly that there is no (older) version pre-installed with max?

Correct. Iray Material works as a Plug in for Iray Renderer. The default materials used by Iray are the M_arch&design material and some autodesk materials.

Made a test between Iray and Corona using my part of the script without further modifications, there is obviously work to do but results are promising.

Original scene uses 100% iray materials.

Cheers

any plans to make it work on iRay materials?? Would be great!!

What a coincidence I was searching on this thread if anybody had explored the iray Material functionality for this script. When I saw that nobody had done it I decided to make my own.

Please test it and tell me what you think.

I didn't know iRay has dedicated Materials O_o Can you give me hint what these are, how to activate them or where I can find these?

Yep. It does. I am an avid Iray user so I know the plug in very well and added that functionality to your script.

I still have an unsolved problem as a noob code writer: I can´t invert the output value on the "Reflection Glossiness" and "Refraction Glossiness" maps.

Iray Material doesn´t use a "Glossiness" Multiplier but rather a "Roughness" Multiplierso I have to have that function when translating Iray to Corona.

Cheers and Happy New Year!

Thanks maru. I´m still getting used to corona´s light and exposure system, it definitely handles HDRI´s in a very different way than iray even at the same values. I am using a modified HDRI with a very strong sun baked into the environment.

Just tried the interactive rendering for the first time and wow this thing is fast.

I´ll take a look at the F.A.Q now.

Thanks.

Hey there.

This is my first post on these forums. My main goal with this project is to explore the capabilities of the new Corona Render Engine v1.0. Because I use iRay and Octane as my primary production engines, this W.I.P will help me define my future investments in hardware and software for my home render farm. At the end I may choose to stay with GPU based rendering or migrate to a CPU based solution. I am also trying Maxwell Render.

I have done some tests using HDRI and Corona Sun but the results don´t convince me yet.

Any advice on improving lighting or material realism?
Please be every bit as critic as you can.

I´m updating this first post with the main view each time I have a new version the second post will contain my main materials and some details.

Thx in advance.
