After a bit of experimenting I noticed that the Hybrid shadow mode in Corona material ignores the Absorption distance and colour and the shadow is always very light and colourless, as if the object were made of plain clear glass. I rendered the same scene in Mental Ray to see how it would render the shadows. It turns out that by default Mental Ray uses these fake shadows for non-opaque objects, but they look more plausible because they take into account the colour of the object (see attached pictures).
So my question is whether it is possible to implement something like that in Corona?

Hi, this is a known issue and already fixed. It will be in new Alpha version. Since you already have more than 5 posts, you can go to the alpha builds daily section and request the daily build access to get the fixed build right away ;)
