Currently it's possible to limit rendering in interactive mode by passes only.
The problem with this is that a certain amount of passes may work for some cases and be overkill for others. Noise limit would be better, for example, in isolation mode.

Well, IR is not for producing finished renders - the passes limit is just there as a way to stop consuming CPU power after a small number of passes, so that if you forget and are off browsing the internet or working on something else, it doesn't keep rendering forever (but not as a way to stop an image when it is totally clean, where final rendering should be used).
