I am surprised you cant repo it? This happens on all our machines at work.

The one note for us is we work over a network, so no textures are living on our local machines.

I hope its soon, because setting up RGB mattes in Corona is a literal pain in the rear end if you have massive scenes with all sorts of objects and vegetation.
It's feels so old and a slog compared to just selecting the objects you need in post to create a matte. This is a huge frustration for us with Corona.
(That and not having better color management).

Im not sure how to answer that. If you use a LUT and render out Render Elements, each element gets the LUT applied, and when comped will not look like the Beauty pass.

What I would want to see is either the LUT is only applied to the Beauty pass, and the elements are spit out without the LUT.

Or..........

The LUT is applied to the elements in a way so that when composited back, it matches the beauty. (This may not be possible with how the LUTs are used I dont know).

Right now you can just test for yourself with you Benchmark scene. Render it with a LUT and all Essential Render Elements. Then comp them in Nuke to see the difference.

Hmm, I don't think LUTs should be applied to render elements. We will look into this.

Any updates on this?

Here is what I would like to happen.

1. Use a LUT and it only applies to your beauty pass, leaving your AOV's alone.

2. Use a LUT and it applies the LUT to the elements so when comp together reproduce the look of the beauty.

good to know you are thinning about it. Sometimes I refrain from using it because of this. In the heat of production you dont need endless pauses. We have enough of that in Max as is.

I agree, it is a point that is pushing me into other renders as well. I do love Corona, but we need to keep up with the Tone Mapping standards.

Ya haha. I guess I have just worked from a network pretty much my whole career, so it just slipped my mind.

Perhaps this is when using networked textures. It happens to us, but I have not tried this from local textures folder, all our stuff is through network.

Also we can't use corona camera a lot because of some of the things I mention, and some Max to Nuke exports we do.

The Ask:

I would like to have the option to override the DOF focus by and Object in the CoronaCameraMod, just like in the main Corona camera.

The Reason:

- When making previs animations I want to be able to use Multi-pass camera effects for motion blur or depth of field. Which is only on a Max standard camera.
- I dont want to use the Max Camera, but I do have to use it do do other things with scripts and exporting camera data and such.
