We only render Corona in Path Tracing for both solvers. We do a lot of animation and just dont like messing with the caches and stuff.

We also use Corona HQ denoiser at around 0.75 as a start.

I know not everyone will want to render with just Path tracing, but for us it's just less guessing, and we never have any flickering.
Not sure if we could get better render times if we used a different solver for the GI, but I prefer letting the render farm do the work, and not worring about GI settings :)

I thought I read you can now overlap Corona volume grids? Is this not true?

If possible could we see a 'Improved volumetrics' option?
Specifically render speed and previewing in IR as well as being able to render volumetrics from within a volume.

Heck yes +1

Volumes are pretty limited in Corona actually.

just saw this in action in v-ray 6 beta, its a pity it's not available to us)

Im playing with it now. It is very cool.

I will add them personally immediately if people finally stop saying "Merging with Chaos was a mistake" after 5 years :D

I still wish you were independent. But, I have enjoyed some aspects of the merger for sure. Just keep your core philosophy of Corona intact and we will be good :)

Also, you can now add the cloud system into Corona please :)

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: ACES OCIO Config

Yes we can render LWF......

But when you work with people/studios doing comp and VFX and they are asking to render in ACES and you say sorry I can't, that is not the best.

"While I leave it to the devs to answer the question specifically, in case it is useful anyway, I did just want to add in the reminder that applying the ACES OT does not make the output compatible with an ACES color managed workflow. It simply adds a tone mapping curve that is used in ACES as a "sweetener". This may or may not affect your question, but I did want to make sure that was clarified."

Hmmm that is a bit disappointing.

I am pretty sure Garage Farm supports Anima

He probably means just doing playblasts of the viewports. Not a render.

But I think what should happen is unless someone has the render panel there should be no License pulled for Corona.
People need to be able to open scenes with Corona stuff in it without using a License, much like how Itoo Forest Pack does.

Yes a very good point. We have the same situation here. It even goes as far if someone is just working in Max it grabs a license, regarless if they are touching anything Corona related.
This does not seem right to me at all.

@ LE DON

Lots of good points here. I agree, there is some love needed on the color picker. Not just in the UI design,
but how it works and remembers your settings as well. I much prefer what you have designed.

I think there is a problem with Corona 8 as a whole. A lot of elements seemed rushed and not implemented
in the same quality as past releases in my opinion.

I can confirm that is the same here. Corona 8 has introduced a bunch of UI problems in my opinion.
It would be great to have dialogs remember size, positions, and settings. There is a lot of clickign goign on atm
to have things the way you need them.
