I'm using the standard max spot lights with Volume Light effect as a fast alternative to global volume material.
It works great in non-distributed render. But it doesn't work with DR,  main workstation renders it but render nodes are not...
Is it possible to fix it, or is there a workaround?
Thanks.

Would be great if the installer on the main workstation had an option to deploy Corona on all the render nodes, instead of doing it manually.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Updated Corona Benchmark?
« on: 2017-09-26, 05:59:34 »
1.3 benchmark is pretty much obsolete by now, it runs too fast for modern dual xeon systems.
Is it possible to release an updated benchmark based on the upcoming ver.1.7?

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Option to turn off AVX?
« on: 2017-09-19, 02:49:51 »
Does the AVX really brings significant render speed improvement to offset 15-20% lower turbo boost frequency on most Intel CPUs?
Would it be possible to turn the AVX off somehow?
Thank you!

Bloom and Glare effects are currently being applied to the entire image, overlapping the seams of the images then  the Cube/Spherical/Cylinder camera projection is used.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Denoise include/exclude
« on: 2016-09-16, 16:50:36 »
Denoising is absolutely great feature, but sometimes it blurs the fine textures a bit too much.
It would be great to have an option to include/exclude objects from the denoising.
Simple include/exclude list would do.
Having an option to select by material ID, object ID, and selection would be even better. Similar to what you already have in Corona Mask element.

[Max] Resolved Feature Requests / Pre-run 3ds Max (DR)
« on: 2016-08-25, 21:23:04 »
When will the Pre-run 3ds Max function be implemented?

I upgraded all 4 of my computers and can't activate the license on 2 of them. Other 2 activated fine. I've tried everything - regular activation with email/password, installing license server, manual activation on the website. Nothing works. I'm getting an error "Activation limit was reach for this account". I should have  2 more licenses available, I'm subscribed to 1 workstation + 3 nodes plan.
Is it possible to fix it? I emailed the support yesterday  but they stopped answering (probably due to the weekend). I have an intense rendering workload this weekend and loosing two machines really hurts.

Is it possible to have "clear VFB inbetween renders"  unchecked by default?

[Max] Resolved Bugs / 64 threads limit
« on: 2015-10-12, 20:58:28 »
Right now if you try to render with a pair of e5-2699V3 (72 threads), corona would use only 50% of the CPU. It renders fine with HT off, but it means loosing 15-20% of speed.
Is it possible to make Corona to use more than 64 threads? Cinebench works fine with all 72 threads. Chaosgroup seems to have resolved the issue in the latest builds of Vray.
Thank you.

DR Server closing 3DS Max every time after render is done, and opening it again for a new job.
Is it possible to set it to run Max all the time, live Vray DR does?

It would be great to get a native Corona map similar to MultiTexture.
Or at least fix the existing MultiTexture support:

It would be great to keep the 3ds max open on slave computers, just like vray's DR does.
For quick previews the rendering is already done by the time slave opens max and loads scene - poor slave didn't even had a chance to contribute :)

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Better CPU multithreading support?
« on: 2013-06-18, 16:46:01 »
Seems like Corona is not optimized that well for the large number of cpu cores.
I'm using these 2 machines:
dual x5680 @ 4ghz  (12 cores - 24  threads)
dual e5-2689 @3.4ghz (16 cores - 32 threads)
Corona benchmark results are 8.2M rays/s vs 7.5M rays/s  in favor of x5680 system.
But both Vray and C4D results are exactly opposite - e5-2689 is significantly faster, by about 15% (which makes sense considering never generation and number of cores difference).
Is this something you could resolve in future releases?
Thanks.

How far is Corona from getting the DR?
Thanks!
